How much extra do you usually spend above DDP?

I am heading out in August, family of 5 on the DDP.

This is not our first DDP trip, and I do know we tend to check out with quite a bit of extra snacks/credits. Also that we are never hungry throughout the day! I'm also aware of the tip cost per table and budget for that.

What I am wondering is when others add alcohol or specialty kids drinks to their TS meals, how quickly does that add up? Past trips I have been strict on the budget, we don't add extras, period. Kids are older this trip, money is (a little) less tight so I was thinking hubby and I could enjoy a 'grown up' drink with dinner once in awhile. Of course if that's the case we will most likely treat the kids to something fun now and than too.

What am I looking at? Roughly $30extra/meal + the added tip %% or more?

I never get our kids those specialty drinks because they are almost $10 each. My kids are older now also (13,13,7) and they do not even ask for them. As far as alcohol, I would figure an extra $15/drink ($12 plus tax/tip). We bring a bottle of hard liquor and my husband puts it in a water bottle and uses that with club soda sometimes. Also, some alcohol drinks are super expensive (there was a post on here of someone paying $80 for 3 drinks at the Polynesian).

For me, it's either liquor or dessert. So when I'm on the ddp, I typically don't order alcohol at a TS meal.

I save my liquor consumption for a walk around WS. :cool1:

Lol yes my husband would rather drink around the world too, but I think that would add up quickly.

All things considered we will probably stick to our usual, a case of beer or liquor for our room when we are there and maybe one extra drink at dinner the entire week. I was reading menus and guess some of the drinks look appealing, but not really worth the extra cost to us.

Those drinks came in souvenir glasses. The price is lower if you don't want the glasses.

I'm budgeting $100 extra per day for drinks and tips for dh and I. I think its a little on the high side but I'm figuring that is around 3 specialty drinks each. Dh will probably have more beer and wine than specialty cocktails but I won't.

Garden Grocer is typically 70 for our beer and water plus fresh fruit. Then 150-200 for tips.

I'm planning on spending a couple hundred over for a 8 night stay. And that doesn't include my Garden Grocer order of $70 for water, snacks, and easy breakfast items.
