How much does the tooth fairy bring for wisdom teeth?

I got a big fat bill and my mom bought me a freeze from the ice cream place when she dropped me at home. I think $50 was a nice gesture/bribe for your son though! I hope his mouth heals quickly!

Mom of an Aspie here! I think for our boys that 50 bucks sounds about right! Glad to hear that you were able to allay his fears!

Tooth Fairy left me an ice pack and a bottle of Vicodin after my wisdom teeth came out. I thought it was a fair deal.

The tooth fairy didn't give anything for wisdom teeth, but my DH did something similar when DD had to get her first intraocular injection.
All it took was the mere sight of one of these: :sad1: and he offered to pay for half of the Ipod Touch she had been saving for.
So, 1 shot = $150. DH is such a sucker.... ::yes::
It's been over a year and the nurses STILL ask what she's getting each time she gets a shot...uh, nothin', we're paid up until she's out of the house, thank you very much. :rotfl:

Wow,he made out pretty well!
I had mine removed right in the oral surgeon's office on a Friday afternoon using only Novocaine (and a chisel!). Was back at college bright and early Monday morning. No $$, no gifts, but Mom waited on me all weekend.:flower3:

Whatever works to make the ordeal easier! DD was able to dread her braces installation less because she got to go to Build a Bear immediately after.

my son had his out first week of summer vacation i didnt get him anything now i feel guilty

Haha- same here! My DS got a lot of ice cream and pudding and a lot of sympathy, but no cash.

Thankfully, his was a very simple surgery- he had all four out but it was pretty straightforward. He was better, and on a choir trip with church, six days later.

I had mine removed last year and all I got was a bottle of pain pills, a smoothie and couple days off work. Oh and I was repremanded by the oral surgeon for not having it done sooner. Well those three. I had one pulled about 10 years ago becuase it was breaking, but I refused to have the others done at that time. (I was terrified of having them all pulled)

They put me under this time becuase he thought he might have to cut some bone since mine had been in so long. He said I wouldn't want to be awake for that. I think I paid less than $200 after insurance.

My ds16 is having all four of his wisdom teeth removed next Friday. We are going to an oral surgeon as all four are impacted. The cost is a little over $1200 with our dental insurance. My son is just fine...a little anxious, but he will go through with it. I am not going to offer him anything other than my sympathy and soft foods for a few days. However, if he was very anxious and the tooth fairy could help ease his mind then I would certainly let the tooth fairy do her job. :goodvibes I am glad to hear your son did just fine.

I just had all 4 of mine removed by an oral surgeon 3 weeks ago. The cost wasn't too bad compared to many of those here. I paid a little over $300 for coinsurance + deductible and around 100 for the xrays during the consultation.

I of course didn't get anything from the tooth fairy. But since I'm almost 26 and not living at home I guess I really didn't expect anything.
