How much do you spend on Groceries??

Usually $150 every two weeks, with about $50 on the off weeks. Yesterday was my every two week shopping and I spent a whopping $209, have no idea why or what I bought, but I was surprised. BTW, we are a family of 3.

Barely $50/week for just dd and I. Usually less. We rarely eat out.

ETA: I just hit 1000 posts! I talk alot.

We spend a little over $500 a month. I do my shopping about every 10 days. Today is Sept. 10 and the last time I went to the store was Aug. 31. I usually spend somewhere between $160-170. Then we have diapers, laundry soap, OTC meds and such. Oh, and we are a family of 4...me, dh, ds (7--as of yesterday!), and dd (16 months). My ds is a growing boy.

What our "budget" is?...or how much we ACTUALLY spend on groceries:rolleyes:

For our family of six: groceries (this includes paper goods, tolietries, dog/rabbit food, eating out, and pretty much anything else that is not in the usual budget) We are budgeted for approximately $87/week...we usually end up going around $100.

My DH is always giving me grief that I can't stay within my budget. I wish I knew how others did it! ::yes:: We use coupons, shop at Town Talk (a salvage food store...AKA "The green food store" because you need to eat the food before it goes green:rolleyes: ), Wal-Mart (because they price match), and Costco for some bulk items (they have had the cheapiest milk!) I STILL can't stay within the bounds!!!Arrrgghhh....oops...sorry about the vent...I'm better now...back to the OP

I love marketing. We go about once a month and spend approximately $160.00. (there's only 2 of us) I love looking for the deals like buy one get one free. They do a lot of that at my market , especially with things like hot dogs, bacon, kilbassi. I'll by a 3 or 4 lb package of hamburg which is always cheaper than buying individual packs and break down to 1 lbs'er when I get home. Thing like that really tickle me. Guess I need to get a life.

There are 4 of us, and usually I will do the big shopping every 7-10 days, and spend about $80 or so. (with coupons, and store card) THat is only meat, grocery items, one loaf of bread. In between, about every 3-4 days I spend about $25 on milk, additional bread, etc. I use all the coupons I can, (usually doubled, but tripled this week at a few stores), and since we are close to Shop-Rite, A&P, and Pathmark, I will shop where ever stuff is on sale.....no loyalty for me........saved money is what counts. I have saved 50% (or occasionally more) of my grocery bill.
We also have a store that is a farmers market type place, that sells fruit and vegetables mostly, (much cheaper than grocery stores) but also sells fresh bread, milk ($2.49 yesterday) and eggs (89 cents for extra large), so I usually go there once a week and spend about $10-15 there (no coupons)

I guess total, I spend about $400 a month on groceries

When my husband was laid off we tried to keep our weekly grocery budget to $20 or so. It was a fun game to see if we could do it using coupons and buying sale items.

Now that he's back to work, we budget for between $40-50 for the week, sometimes spending less. That amount includes laundry detergents and paper products too.

About $650 a month, and that includes everything like laundry detergent, shampoo, vitamins, dog food, etc. My growing boys are eating me out of house and home!

DS is away at college now, so for the four of us, it's in the area of $235-$250 per week. When he is home, that adds another $30-$40 extra. It is not unusual for us to get near $300 for a week.

For a family of four, we average about $150 per week. It seems to me that the cost of food keeps going up! I need to be better about using coupons so I can put those savings towards our Disney trips!

Well we are up there on price too! I try to stay under the $200 my DH gives me but I have to have my Disney charge card with me just incase I go over. (This happens often) There are six of us and dd is in college but doesn’t eat anything when she is home so my bill remains the same. :earsgirl: Gina

I usually average $125/week. DH is kind of picky with certain foods and soap products, so I can't always catch a sale or have coupons. I usually buy DS's diapers there too.

When I spend less than $100, I get so excited!

About $40 every couple of weeks. I'm cheap, and our generic brand rocks.

It's just the two of us, BTW.
