I know this is wacky question :upsidedow but I'm going to throw it out there...

How much do you charge onboard...roughly?

Wowww. That is a questions that can vary as much as the ocean is wide.

Over the past 3 years my family of 4 has averaged around $500-$600 for the week (excluding tips). Netiher my wife or I drink very much. We usually go on our own for the shore excursion except for CC. There we rent floats and sailboats or paddle boats and such. My wife's weakness is the photographs.

If you add in what we do for excurions on the various islands this would probably push our grand total to $1100-1200 for the week.

Hope this helps.

15 days and counting until our next Magical voyage! :cool1:

For a family of three we usually end up around 1500 bill at the end of the 7 day cruise...we did around 1000 on the 4 day. We are not drinkers or it would have been much more!

Hello :earsgirl: . For my family of 3 on the four day we spent 900 that did not include tips. My daughters liked giving our servers the envelope with the tip in it. I :love: loved the photo packages as well. We had an awesome time with that 900. Hope you have a great trip. :flower:

For a three day in 2003 I spent about $700
7 day in 2004 We spent over $2000
3 day this September I am thinking it was around $800

I have cruised 4 times with DCL and each time the end of week bill was between 1200-1400 dollars.

Okay, newbie here.... what are you guys spending the money on? Approximately? Since all these amounts are not including tips and many of you don't drink? Is it excursions? Photos? Spa treatments? Help me out here! It seems so much is already covered.

I'm not being cheeky, I'm just curious to know where everyone's cruise money goes.

Excursions were a big part of ours - we did the Dolphin Encounter and the Parasailing at CC.

We only bought 1 picture - but we all got sweaters and hats also.

For the rest I am not sure what else we spent our $ on.

A few more details as to what our bill was attributed to: Gift Shops items (Photo albums, clothes, etc), Snacks for the movies, a drink here and there, photos (usually get a package with my parents of 10-15 photos), float rental at CC, boat rental at CC, internet access, video arcade cards, bottle of alcohol for gifts.

On our 7 nt Western (three people):

Souvies = $650 (DCL & onshore)
Tips = $350
Excursions = $100 (Capt Marvins - GC)
Drinks = $90
Shutters = $85
Spa = $100
Rentals @ CC = $70
Palo = $20
Arcade = $20

Total = $1485

You don't realize how quickly it adds up. Granted, we spent a little more on souvies than we wanted to but it was our first cruise. But we went easy on the drinks, only did one excursion and cancelled our Cabana Couples Massage on CC ($284). The bill would've easily been over $2k if we did more.

For the 4 of us, we have spent anywhere from $1000 to 1500 for a 7-night cruise. The high-end was because I spent a lot at Shutters on one cruise since our pictures turned out too beautiful to pass up. The totals already include gratuities, shore excursions, a few night-time drinks (we do not drink much) and souvenirs.

I was amazed when I heard how much people were spending on their cruises.........THEN I WENT ON ONE!!! We sailed on the Magic this past January and spent an easy $1,000 (including tips). My husband played golf at one of the ports, we had a few drinks, my 4 yo DD had her hair braided, some pictures from Shutters and a few souviniers. It adds up SO VERY FAST!!!! I thought we were being somewhat conservative with our spending, but we still ending up spending a quick grand!! We easily could have spend MORE!!!!!

We always spend WAY TOO MUCH!!! :rotfl: But we love it and keep going back. Each time vowing to spend a little less. :rotfl2: Will try again this December. :confused3

1princessesmom - where did your husband golf? DH and I are going on a Golf Cruise in January and cannot wait.

Just wondering if he played the course we are playing?

Chasbos, How did you like parasailing at CC. My 11 year old and I want to try this. Did you do single or tandum? I don't think she would do it by her self so I'm thinking we would have to do tandum.

My final bill aboard my last seven day cruise (not Disney) was $73. I don't drink at all, Ms. Flagger had one, and we book our shore excursions independently.

Our first cruise was $340 or so (also seven days on another line). We spent the most of our money at the specialty restaurant, hot chocolate (Alaska) and accompanying mugs.

These are just our final bill charges, they do not account for what we spent in the ports which honestly was very little.

We are a family of 4 (DD11,DS5) and I buy T-shirts from Gabes before we leave, we do the ports on our own, we don't drink at all, (but I did try a freebie at the CC party :smooth: ), we have never even seen the spa or Palo, so our bill is rather small compared to most.

Tips $300 +
Formal picture (8x10) X 3 $ 60
Pressing service the first night $ 15 max
Gift shop DD11 (Pins and lanyard) $ 40
Gift shop DS5(Peter Pan set, Stitch)$22
Total approximately $440

Plus I had almost $130 in DD rewards to put toward the total.

Flagger and cynjam, I doubt I could spend that little, but it is nice to know it is possible! I was just making sure there were no hidden charges.

lmok - My family loved the parasailing. Our 2 DD's (13 & 11) went together tandem and DH and our DD 9 went tandem. Our youngest was not old enough to go :guilty:

The girls thought it was amazing and want to go again.
