How much do YOU budget?

For 3 of us traveling from Canada ideally I want airfare, accommodation and park tickets all combined for under $1000 total. Have pulled that off 3 or 4 times now. We use Air Miles for the Disney tickets. Credit card rewards for the airfare. A variety of methods to get cheap or free hotel rooms like renting Last Call thru RCI ($350 for a week at somewhere nice like Silver Lake) or use Travelpony referral credits etc. We usually are in places with a kitchen so we buy groceries like we would at home.

For our trip coming up in January for airfare, 2 nights LM at AoA, 7 nights Floridays, 6 nights in a condo on Treasure Island and 3 5 day Disney passes total dollar cost is $950.

4 years ago we budgeted about $3000 for our family of four, staying at Pop during Free Dining, driving down to Disney, 11 nights, 10 day park tickets (with a few special things thrown in)....We are now planning a trip for Fall of 2015, hopefully 11-12 nights, 10 day tickets with a family of six (5 plus one infant)...our budget has accordingly had to increase I'm hoping to keep it somewhere around the $5000 range...though it might be closer to $6K with gas and extras added in....also depends on if free dining is offered (and where it is offered....)

***I am amazed at how cheaply a lot of people can do WDW, Driving is not an option for us and park tickets are what they are, we have decided if we do Disney again, it will be for a holiday and we may only do one park day, so we could save a lot there....

That's my thoughts exactly. When I priced a 7 day vacation, the expenses were very similar to yours. We ended up with 5 days/4 nights at WDW and 4 days in Miami. But then we decided to add two more days before WDW on the beach. That's another $1,000! I know people save by driving and then staying four people in one room, but the idea of driving for 15 hours to WDW with a toddler and then staying in the same room makes my hear stand up a little. A true luxury is to be able to afford a vacation that gets you relaxed.

Our coming trip will cost $2,400 for our family of 5. That is 6 days at CBR, 2 day park hopper and free dining. Airfare is also included, but we hit a crazy sale that we will never get again ($180 round trip total for all 5 of us). We get off cheaper because our youngest is under 3. This is the most we have spent on a WDW vacation. We usually stay off-site and the cost is around $1,500, but we have to drive 1,000 miles to get there.
