How much do/will you spend on treats for trick or treat?

After going to the store this week to pick up candy and wondering if I should get more, I am curious to know what everyone spent on Halloween give outs this year!

I spent $7 and have enough for about 150 kids but wonder if I should get more. Last year we ran out of candy and were going through the house to look for things to give out!

We live in the country where houses are few and far between and I have always made up bags of candy for the trick-or-treaters that come out. In past years we would have about a dozen kids, plus grandkids. I would buy several kinds of candy, including chocolate, and fill up sandwich bags for them. I wanted to "make it worth their while" for coming out. So I used to spend probably close to $50 on candy.

Now, all the neighborhood kids have grown up so we just get our grandchildren, and only 3 of those as the other 2 are teenagers. I still make up special bags for them, and I do buy 4-5 bags of miniature chocolate bars to have in a bowl just in case we do get other trick-or-treaters but DH usually ends up eating those.

Do you mean the Halloween candy we already bought and ate or do you mean the stuff we will buy on Oct 30th and actually hand out .

I don't really know, we buy 5-7 bags of candy so $15-20 or so?

We spent about $20. We live in a big neighborhood with lots of kids and I don't like giving out just one or two pieces. I give a small handful maybe 4-5 pieces to each kid. We're giving out Kit Kats, Whoppers, Hershey bars, Reese's Peanut Butter cups, Sweettarts, Laffy taffy, Nerds, Runts, Sour Warheads, Sour Patch Kids, Super Bubble, Airheads, Tigerpops, Swedish Fish, Smarties, Atomic Fireballs, Dum DUm Gum pops, Lemonheads, Jawbreakers, and Bazooka pops!

We live well off the beaten path in a very isolated area, one way in, one way out. Most people are scared of our steep steep driveway so we never have trick or treaters. I spend probably $10 - $15 making up little bags for DS, DD & my great nieces and nephews and a few bags for the church to use for the fall festival and some to send to school for parties.

We get about 200 kids coming to our door, so I get the $20 bag of 300 pieces of sugar candies.

Nothing yet, if I buy too early, I have to go out and buy them again!

Lately the number of kids coming to our door gets smaller and smaller. There aren't that many kids out there from what I can see. So I bought two bags, but one was actually for my family. Altogether it came to $8

I now feel like I should go out and spend more! Luckily I did buy gummy candy which I don't like and won't eat so I don't have to worry about that but I would hate to run out like last year!

this will be the first year in many that I will be at a house in a development. I have missed it. Not sure how many kids will come since we are at the end of a dead end street, but I am planning when I get to AZ next week, to get about 100 full size candy bars....so about $45-50. I am so looking forward to it.

I've bought 4 huge bags, so about $35 (so far!) I try really hard not to open any of them prior to Halloween but my son and DH found them. Once they are open, it seems they are fair game! So my stockpile is diminishing. I'm resigned to having to get another bag......

A big bowl of this goes to DD's suitemates at school, I always give them a big bowl along with Halloween socks for each of them!

Usually zero. Now since Halloween is Saturday Ii might spend 2.00 on bag candy. I going to the Dollar tree. They have tootie rolls for a dollar. If I don't eat them first.

I don't pass out candy. It isn't that I don't like Halloween or don't want to spread the joy but I have a lot of friends with kids and a nephew so instead of sitting home I go take out one of them with my friends or brother. I would rather be part of the day with them.

I love decorating the outside of our house and being able to wait outside to hand out candy if the weather is nice. I most spent close to $30 each year and will have about 150 kids come by.

We got to a state park with my parents (they have an rv) before Halloween and give out tons of candy there. Last year I bought about 14 bags and my mom bought about the same. There wasn't enough.

Then we buy about 8 bags to give out at our house, but we're in a different neighborhood this year, so I'm not sure how much we'll have to buy.
