How much did you spend on your dvc membership

Great minds think alike. I just had the same thought and worked it out.

We've got 605 points (all direct) spread out amongst Poly, BLT, VDH, and recently OKW. Like I said before, never thought we'd be at this level but glad we made it.

Buy In Cost $100k
If buying direct today $142k
If buying resale today $86k

Our average $/pt is $165.

We bought our first set of points in 2017 or 8 years ago. The only thing I can take away from this is if buying direct today it will be far less than buying 5-10 years from now. As for resale, I'm not so sure. I kinda think the resale market prices will be a bit flatter for longer. Will be interesting when the flood of 2042 points (17 years from now) come off the board what prices will be.
I LOVE the various breakdowns.

I think I'm abutting 80k (rapid calculation was 78 something but I'm surely overlooking some fees). With a bit of value immediately pulled out with cruise swaps and banked points.

SSR - 50 Resale
VGF - 50 Direct
RIV - 50 Direct
VDH - 75 Direct
AUL - 100 Resale
CCV - 100 + 50 Resale
475

Honestly, the only one that really feels bad is SSR. 140pp on that one. Despite a botched Aulani purchase, I am on the sidelines again for probably a couple years. Only really Poly Resale, RIV resale or Lakeshore Lodge Resale would catch my eye.

Okay I did my cost for 1156 points. Oh man... I really was still in my mind just sticking to my 100k figure.. we are well over that.

My 1156 points averages $141.73 per point. Which includes 338 direct points. I will let y'all do the math I cant bring myself to type it.

The $64,000 dollar question… lol

It is that amount beyond $100k estimate 😆

If it helps, we averaged over $163pp.

Thats way lower than what I average per point- my number is around 170. And you have VGC.

You’re also in the winners spot on boardwalk this year literally the opposite end from me.

When I feel bad about missing out on pricing of yesterday, I try to remember this:

We bought VGF in 2023 at $161pp. I think there was similar pricing when it opened 10 years prior, but paying that price in 2013 would’ve been like paying $210pp in 2023 when we purchased. Of course our contract was also 10 years shorter… still, in the big picture, the prices of yesteryear are less enviable after inflation is applied.

See now that's what I needed to hear.

All you old timers need to start converting your buy-in costs to today's dollars 🤣

Well we exceed $100K since I posted in June 2024. We are now at 600pts with our Dec 2024 PVB 100 point add on. We are at $118,625 all direct for a ppp average of $197.71. That CCV and PVB add on for our DD hurt our ppp, which with just our 425 VGF points had us at $187.88. Not that $187 makes me feel any better.

I did run the math based on 2013 rack rates and we are still ahead even based on 2013 rates so that helps. I should sit down and run the math for real based on rates each year. Maybe that will help. In all seriousness the memories my family has made are priceless and we have zero regrets beyond wishing we bought sooner and more when the cost was less. Disney has always been our place to recover from whatever life has dished out and I can't imagine that we would have done so many trips and resets without our DVC.

120 Direct PVB in 2015- $22,000 ish
120 Resale AKL in 2020- $14,000 ish
100 Resale SSR in 2024- $11,000 ish
160 Resale BLT in 2025- $21,000 ish

500 points, a mix of direct and resale, for a grand total of around $68,000. 24 year old me in 2015 was terrified to tell my parents I had dropped over $20k on a Disney “timeshare” contract. Now they use our points just as much as we do 😂

Just did the math on the price per point, not including closing costs or other fees (just what I offered and had accepted per point when I purchased my contracts). Came out to $124/point, which I feel is pretty solid!
