Just curious as to how much you spent at Disney on everything?

We are going in May, a family of 4 and driving from Maryland. We are staying offsite at a house for 7 nights for $500 and plan on getting hopper tickets which should be about $900. We have 3 ADR's at Chef Mickey's, 1900 Park Fare, and Whispering Canyon all for dinner.

DH and I are questioning how much we are taking now.

Thanks in advance.

Lisa

Family of 4 - 2 adults, 1 Jr (same as adult) & 1 child:

Room (POFQ - Value season, 9 nights) $1100.00 (with AAA disc)
Park Hoppers 10 day w/water park & more options $1200.00
Airfare: $1200.00

The biggest expense for our family was food, we spent approx. $1600. We could have done it much cheaper by taking breakfast food, eating more burgers etc. instead of rib & chicken platters at the CS restaurants.

TS: LTT, Garden Grill, H&V brkfst, Boma & Coral Reef $620.00(the dinners were $120-140 ea and the breakfast was $100)
8-Daily breakfast's food court $360.00
4-refillable mugs: $48.00
CS/snacks/drinks: $620.00

Ride Pictures: $120.00 (all of DD's first's)
Pins bought pre-trip $320.00
Pins bought during trip: $400.00
Chalk Portrait of kids: $100.00
Christmas Ornaments: $110.00
Misc. Souvenirs: $300.00
Disney Quest Art & Pins from cartoon class: $50.00
Hair wrap for DD & myself: $60.00
Limo from MCO: $150.00
Jester Cruise for DD: $30
Kids had about $200 ea also.
We bought sweatshirts on our 2006 trip so only DD got a new one.

To save $$ we could have skipped the TS meals, Limo, & a lot of the souvenirs as wells as pins.

The last time I went-too much!

Poly GV for 7 nights at $275 ish/night with AAA discount (I think) so I am thinking it was around $2100-$2300.

2 adult 5 day park hoppers, no water parks plus 1 child 5 day PH no water park- $600-$700 (my mind tends to forget those bills).

Airfare for 4 from Hartford- $700-$200 for dh, myself & dd at the time 4 & $100 for ds since he was under 2 & we got him a seat.

$100 or a bit more for parking at the airport for 8 days.

$150 on souvineirs & I am thinking that is more then I spent.

$400 on food???, $200+ of it was from Disney Visa points so technically it was way more then that but there wre some triple & double points earned but still. We also shipped breakfast (free from dh's work) so that saved us some of our food budget money.

So I guess I'd say around $5000 or a bit less. YIKES!

We try to do it fairly inexpensively. In my mind, being there, the experience of it all, is the 'souvenir' of sorts, does that make sense? We do get a few things, but we don't go really overboard. My dd collects Minnie Mouse things, she loves the beanies especially, she will typically get 4 or 5 each trip, those are only like $6.50-$12.50 a piece. My son loves the Hot Wheel type cars, those are cheap, thankfully!! LOL! My dd likes the plastic necklaces and bracelets, we let her get 1 or 2. My son loves the souvenir book. That's about it as far as gifts go. I think we usually buy a couple coloring books for the trip home. We are doing the DDP this year, and we probably won't spend much more on food. We buy a box of Entenmann's for breakfast in our hotel room, each night/morning we buy milk for the kiddos. In the park, besides our alotted 1 snack a piece, we will buy probably 2 more snacks each throughout the day, we're a family of 4 so that's not that much $$$ really.

We just love going!! If I broke the back each time we went, well, LOL...we probably wouldn't be able to go every year like we do now.

I don't know that I helped any at all, but that's our experience. Have fun!!

I'd rather have too much than too little.

I charge some and use cash for some.

For 7 days, I'd probably budget $1000 for my family of 4. For the 3 meals, souveniers and other food etc....

If I have any left, I pay my CC when I get home.

Oh well duh! I'm so sorry, I really should proof my posts before sending, LOL!!

I meant to say, we drive each way, stay the night halfway there....so 2 extra nights in a hotel, gas, food....$275-300

6 nights at CBR (this year it's CBR).....plus the DDP....$2147

Dog kennel and house sitter....$200

Then....everything I posted above. Sorry!! I have Disney on the brain, not thinking about typing clearly! :rotfl:

Lisa2669 how did you get a rental house that cheap? We are going in the summer of 08 with everyone in the family hopefully 11 of us and I have been looking at prices for rental houses in the Disney area and they start like 1,100 and up.That is a great price.

This year is going to be our cheapest trip yet!

Gas and tolls to WDW from NY: $200...and that includes a FULL tank of gas when I get home! (driving a economy car)

Possible Stay over on the way down: $40

Food for the drive down: $50

POP CENTURY - 10 days, FREE DINING, 1 day MYW base tickets (3) = $1025 (including tax) - note we already have multiple non expiring tickets from 2 trips ago

OOP MEAL (California Grill...for me. Using DP for DH's meal) - $50

Food for the drive home: $50

Souveniers (including personalized ornament) $100 MAX!!!!!!!! (real budget is $50!!!) Also note I have TONS of Disney merchandise I buy CHEAP throughout the year to use as souveniers for our trip! DS is only 5 and DD is only 1, so this works!!!

Pirate and Princess Party...$40 (for me ONLY! I am meeting some friends down there and will probably leave the family at the resort and go to the party with friends)

TOTAL - $1555!!!!!!!! We leave on 8/22 and return on 9/2. 12 days total!!!

I like this thread! I have been trying to figure out today how much cash to bring. The cash will be for lunches, snacks and souveneirs. We will use a debit card for ADR dinners, resort and tickets. Anyway, I'm subscribing...sorry I'm no help.

We just rented a 4 bedroom home with another family and it was $600 for the week so $300 for each family. We found it on the orlandoinfo.com website. I think our friends called the toll free number on the web page and that's how we booked the house. It had a full kitchen, swimming pool, 1 king size room with bath, 2 twin rooms and I think the fourth room was a full size. It was in a gated community and very nice. I would probably stay again if I could remember the name. Will probably have to ask friends for that info.

Total for our vacation was a little under $3000 and that was driving from PA.

The one bit of advice I have for you is that it's better to bring more than what you think you are going to need. It's amazing what you spend there and when you go to the stores and see all the neat stuff, it's hard not to buy it. Besides the fact that the snack foods are what kills ya in the old pocket book. We've went before with what we "planned" on needing and it took some of the fun out, because every day we'd get the money out and count it and see what we had left to get us through. I told DH we aren't doing that again. Last time we went we brought more than we needed and had a great time and we are doing it again. We already have the dining plan and we are still planning on the 4 of us (me,dh,dd,dd) bringing 1,000.00 for 6 six days 7 nights. I hope this helps !!!!! Like my husband always tells me that we are going to make memories for us and our kids. How do you argue with that?:confused3 Have fun and make the most of it. It's getting close to Disney time for us and I can't wait !!!!:yay:

Since I have taken over as financier of the family WDW vacations I have always spent more than planned so I take extra.

well we've been doing a budget for this trip all week - we're doing 4 nights in Miami before WDW and then 6 nights in St Lucia after so WDW isnt our only budget spend (much to DH's annoyance!)

we're (dh, me and 2 ds's under 6) looking at for Disney alone:
10 nights at CSR with preferred room and DDP, 10 day park ticket - $3300
flight tickets - $2900
Gifts and spending money - $1500
town car costs, buggy hire, etc... - $350

in total I guess we wont be under about $7500 for our WDW part of the trip. Its a hell of alot but worth every penny to us for sure!

It's interesting to see how everyone's budget is different!

We are going to Disney World May 2 - 10th. I am paying for six people (me, dh, my mother, dd 6, ds 4, and dd 2). So far our totals are as follows:

6 Roundtrip Airplane tickets (SW) = $875
8 day minivan rental (Budget with Codes) = $242
3 bedroom, 3 bath townhouse at Windsor Hills = $1040
7 day park tickets (3 adult, 2 kids) = $983
TOTAL = $3134

I am budgeting around $1,000 for food and $400- $500 for souveniers and other expenses that may come up. So I think the total trip for 6 people and 8 days of fun will be about $4,500.

We are leaving 4/23 for 10 nights we are DVC members so I broke that down for the hotel price.
Staying at SSR 997.00 1 bedroom suite
Tickets 10 day with water 566.00 for two
DDP 10 days 780.00 for two
Air with South West 450.00 for three
Parking for 5 nights parents are coming in to the airport taking are mini van home. They will have already been in the world for 2 weeks. 85.00
Stoping for Beer ect 50.00 my parents will get this for us
Disney stuff, we don't have to buy her a meal but she likes her mac and cheese and tips ect 500.00.
Trip total 3,428

Hi! We had the dining plan (sooo worth it!) but we still spent probably $150 extra on other food, like extra drinks, airport food, etc. Another $60 went to various tips for the week, $40 on park photos, $100 on a double stroller week's rental, and $50 for breakfast groceries. Souvenir spending is so variable and personal but we bought many gifts so our spending was higher than we planned. Total, we probably spent about $1000 outside of our travel and package. Our total trip cost us about $5000 for our family of 5 for a week at POR, DDP, and tickets, plus airfare from NY. Have a great time!
