How Much Did I Pay For This Self Inflicted Fun? A Wigdout trip report.

[
I admit I got a chuckle out if this poor woman's misfortune, as well. I should probably repent.
I hoped it wasn't someone's grandmother!

Hope Baylor is feeling better every minute. Poor guy.
Is he feeling well enough to be mad about missing basketball, or is he feeling too bad too even care?
Not even thinking about basketball. He is so sick!

I don't envy you having to run in and throw sub plans together.
I do much better when I have time to ponder the sub plans, but I'm lucky that I have teammates right there to answer questions. Oh and my students were plenty of help, I'm sure!:rotfl2:

Especially the trouble makers -- they are always the most helpful when there is a sub. ;)

Aaah yes, the things we supposedly allow them to do all the time...

chew gum, climb out the windows, have hour long recess, etc.

I don't know about you guys, but some of our subs are interesting, to say the least.

Oh but I do have my little mini wigds.....;) They will tattle!

I was there when my sub came in, she was far too tall, skinny and smartly dressed for my tastes.....:rolleyes1

Oh, our subs are definitely interesting. We have some who choose to create their own lesson plans, some who talk to the kids all period, and some who not only do what you left, but also grade all the papers.

Mini-Wigds! :lmao: Poor Chelsea hates when I am absent because someone always points out that she is the teacher's daughter, and then the sub asks her a million questions like, "I bet your mother doesn't let them talk like this?"

:rotfl:

By the way, it was all I could do not to make a comment about someone else's comment on your facebook status tonight. I was good though. ;)

Since we are in an open classroom they really have to stick with the plans that I leave, I'm always tickled if they have time to grade things like spelling tests and any types of papers that are not subjective.:goodvibes

I have one little girl that just appears at my desk,
like magic,
if I'm working at my computer or grading there she is.....
if she is supposed to be working,
she is watching me.....
she knows where everything is on my desk...
she is a mini Mrs. Anderson...
she could be the sub...

:rotfl:

You mean how old am I?:lmao::rotfl2:;)

Your mini-Mrs. Anderson sounds like one of mine. Only he talks my ear off all period long. If I walk away, he is still talking and following.

Yep, that was the comment that had me holding back my typing fingers. :lmao: Irony at its best!

Oh listen, if she and I didn't have the texts flying back and forth today anyway.....

I hope Baylor is feeling better and no-one else in your house gets ill

I've been out twice this (school) year. The first time, the sub decided he didn't want to teach the lesson I left (which required the kids to take notes off a powerpoint presentation, then do an activity with that information) because "in his day, teachers actually TAUGHT, they didn't rely on technology to teach for them." :confused3 So instead he had them do their homework assignment, which wouldn't have taken more than 20 minutes - and our classes are 90 minutes long. Screwed up my next 4 days. :sad2: After that, I've try REALLY hard not to be out.

I hope Baylor is feeling better this morning. :)

I love the paper graders, too! I had one for our October trip, so it was nice to come back and just enter grades.

Hope Baylor is feeling better this morning, Wigd!

Thanks Jo, he's up went to the barber this morning, getting ready to have some chicken noodle soup, we'll see how that goes....
I love it when I get a paper grader!
Coming back to a nice little row of clipped together, graded papers is heavenly. :goodvibes

The tiny little pleasures in a teacher's life! :upsidedow
Very true about the tiny little pleasures in a teacher's life, no such luck for me though....
I picked up 2 assessments to get graded and entered this weekend.

We didn't have any guy sub...pirate: My teamies would have been like this!:scared1:

Well, again with the team teaching, the sub can't change the plans, they do what the team is doing, but when I was self contained that would have made me really mad and that person wouldn't have been back in my room again!
Baylor is slurping up some soup right now, I wonder if he will want some jello too?

Wigd They are going to close your thread soon ! lol its getting huge!!!

He's better, he's bored.....:bored:
I have spelling and grammar to grade and enter into the grade book. I also have vocabulary and comprehension benchmarks to enter electronically along with the others listed above... It won't take long, just need to set aside a little time and DO IT! That's something I take care of during my Friday afternoon plan time.
It would have been nice to have picked them up graded but they only kept my sub half day...

Glad he is doing better!

I got all my grades in Friday before I left except for one period's test. I left those lying on my desk. I have a hard time bringing home work. I like to get it all done at school.

I really like getting it done at school too, most of my Friday afternoon is plan. I usually have it done....
When I'm home I like to DIS.....
