Soooooo originally our trip was going to cover 3 total days at the parks... 2 days at DL and one day at DCA... but we decided since we're going to be down in California at the same time that BlizzCon is taking place, we wanted to sacrifice a day at DL to go to this convention....which makes me think we'll be missing out on important stuff by doing this.

We're still thinking about buying a 3 day park hopper, since the Convention is going to have long lines which we may not want to stand in ALL day there, so likely on our last day there, we'll be spending maybe 2pm-9pm in the parks, would be my guess....

We're three adults traveling together, so I know there are attractions for the little kids that we can skip, but I haven't been SINCE i was a little kid so, I'm kinda wanting to make sure we soak up enough time there, so, are we trying to pack too much into a 2- 2 1/2 day trip in the parks?

If you get there first thing on your two mornings you should be able to get in a lot of things. Go for the big rides with long lines first and make good use of fast passes. Always try to go get one as soon as your time is up. Don't stop at food stands in the morning before 11am. I call that prime time. Have snacks with you to eat in line.
Jump over the CA around lunch or after. You should be able to do a lot in if you are all willing to keep up the pace and not dawdle around. The extra time on the third day can be used to see things that you consider less important, or go back and hit a few favorites over again. :)

You can do it in 2 1/2 days. As long as you follow the guidelines in Hydroguy's tips, or a guidebook like Unofficial Guide, you'll be fine.

What are your dates? Are you there over a weekend? If you will be there during 2 MM days, I would buy your 3-day hoppers through GetAwayToday. You'll get 2 MM and be able to get a lot more done with little waiting in line. Call them up and tell them you wanted to use the discount code "podcast" but that it's not working online anymore; they should give you the $10 discount that waives the transaction fee, thereby making the tickets the same price as any place else including Disney Travel.
