How much can we get done?

My will be in WDW next month. My dd will be attending one of the YES programs. We have the opportunity to purchase special "after 2 p.m." tickets for a reduced price since the kids will be in class until 2 or 3 each day.

We are going again in October so I am not too worried about not having park time. I just wondered if we decide to go one day, will we actually be able to do/ride anything with summer crowds?? We never, ever go in the summer for crowd reasons! And if we did one park, it would be MK.

Also, we are only about 35 days out and probably would not even be able to make any FP+ selections until we get there.

Chance it or just be happy with DTD, Boardwalk, hang at the pool, etc??

You can get a lot done during the last half of the day at MK, especially during the summer when the park is open until at least midnight. I'd even bet that you can get more done late than early if you don't need to see the parade and/or fireworks.

The crowds do tend to thin out as folks get hot and tired and head back to the hotels.

We were there a couple of weeks ago and did the following in the 4 hour period between 8 and midnight with no FPs:

Big Thunder 3x
Splash Mtn 2x
Space Mtn 2x
Mine Train (10 min wait right a closing time)
Pirates
Jungle Cruise
Haunted Mansion
Pooh
Peter Pan
Speedway
Barnstormer 2x


The longest wait for any of these was for Pirates of all places.

I'd still get your 3 FP+ in advance and knock out some more attractions during the afternoon.
