How much can I expect to pay to have a quilt made?

Looking for someone who knows a lot about quilting.

I am going to have a quilt made and I wonder how much I should expect to pay.

I will have most of the material (old clothes that belonged to our children and am thinking about a fan pattern.)

I'm not sure the size and pattern you want but they are very expensive around here in Amish country for a true amish quilt. The one I won is a king size and was worth about $800, this was 12 years ago.

Hope you find someone to make it for you. My grandma had made a patch work quilt for my Mom and each of her sisters with clothes like you mentioned years ago and it is a great joy for them.

Maybe you can try to do it yourself even if you need to borrow a sewing machine.
