When you travel to WDW how many suitcases per person do you bring?

Looks like I may need 2 for the cruise. Feels like over packing

Is this normal?
Don

I have 1 suitcase that I am checking (and paying for - darn airlines) and one carryon

Don, I'm not surprised. ;)

Usually, we're pretty light packers and but even I'm worried about the amt of luggage we'll be hauling on this trip :scared1: We're flying SW so it doesn't even have anything to do with fees; i't just the amt of stuff :scared:

But with all the extra dinner wear, at least 1 extra pair of shoes each for that, snorkel, flippers, masks, fish extender gifts...it all adds up pretty quickly. In fact it's the only reason we've decided to forego dressing up for pirate nite is because I didn't want to lug all that extra stuff :rotfl2: We're just going to dress tropical with a few props. :rolleyes1

cheers,
:flower3:

since we are driving down, I am bringing 4 steamer trunks filled with a change of clothes for any occasion, Kinda like Lovey and Mr. Howel from gilligan's Island... who takes that many furs with them to hawaii?

It is normal to pack too much. It is normal to go home with clothes you never wore.

For one week in December, I packed in one suitcase checked in the airplane and a small daypack backpack that was my carry-on on the plane. The backpack went to the park a few days.

December was a challenge - needed both warm and cool weather clothes. Even so, I did not wear everything I packed.

As few and as little as possible. If I could get away with it I'd take a duffle bag just for me.

One nice thing about vacation - you see many different people each day. They do not know that you wore that same shirt two days ago.

This rule may not apply on the podcast cruise.

... 4 suitcases for cruise (those stay in car until port) only two filled with clothes (other 2 have surprise goodies) and 1 roll on (Wine, etc.)

... 3 suitcases for pre and post cruise WDW visits (1 suitcase full of more surprise goodies)

Invested in an underwater digital camera (just think undewater photos of the podcast cruise:scared1:)

I always overpack. I normally pack 2 outfits/day, one for day and one for night. I'll also pack a couple extra outfits. I normally take a large duffle bag and a medium rolling suitcase and my laptop bag. In one of the cases I pack an empty gym bag duffle bag that I use as another carryon in case I need extra room on the return from all the souvenirs and stuff.

I actually have a tendency to underpack, even with my lists. For this trip, I have two weeks in London before I head for the podcast cruise. I thought I was doing well, I had a day by day list of what to wear while on the cruise and in WDW, then I made a list of 9 work day outfits, and totally forgot about the weekend in London.

Good thing they have a washer and dryer here. I do however, always overpack undies, @ least one extra.

So far I haven't found that I've forgotten anything.

I'll chime in here since it's been two days of packing/repacking.

We are a family of 4: 2 adults 2 kids.

We arrive Friday, May 8th..sightsee Orlando area
May 9th..Kennedy Space center
May 10-14..Podcast cruise
May 14-16 WDW
May 17-fly home
We have 2 suitcases checked
1 garment bag checked (NORTHWEST .. so we have to pay for all 3)
2 rolling carry-ons
4 back-packs

Ugh. I'm not sure the Pirate night clothing would make that much of a difference. I used space bags and have (I think) minimized clothing. I do take a host of meds (and now hand sanitizer and clorox wipes) for the just in case ailment.
Oh and I have a box that will be shipped to our hotel for FE gifts.

We'll have 2 suitcases, 1 garment bag and 1 carry on. The rolling cooler will be coming too, but it folds flat so it won't be out until the beer/wine run on Saturday.

NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
