How much are you willing to pay for Barbra?

Jeez, that sort of $ could go a long way to a wdw trip....

It amazes me how well the people on the DIS can sing!! Who knew? :confused3

I would not be able to pay $700 for a concert and get 'ok' seating when I could pay $1000 for great seating. That is just my opinion though. You have to do what you can afford.
Go and have a good time. :thumbsup2

I just checked her website about the tour and it says,

"With a commitment to direct millions of dollars to charitable organizations she supports, Barbra Streisand will undertake her first national tour....
She has something called "The Streisand Foundation" and her money is doled out through there. As I read it, it sounds like a lot of enviromental causes, education and health.

I wonder exactly how much she will give back to the community.

like my dad would say

Not even if she was playing in my backyard

Even more so if it's in my back yard. We have noise ordinances here!

Babs is not my cup of tea but if you have the money and you really want to go I say go. I just spent $300 on two tickets to Wicked and I'm almost sick when I think about that but...it is for our 10th anniversary trip and I really want to go. Plus, I had a little extra money so I could afford it, most of the time I can't afford to drop $300 for fun.

Go and have a great time.

I do have to agree with some of the other posters though, it seems like a huge amount of $$$ to charge.

Daxx's Wife here. I like Barbra. I like her music a lot. However, YIKES! Those ticket prices are quite high!

I think that I'd invest the $$ in an I-Pod, download the whole Babs music collection, take the remaining cash and book a vacation. I'd enjoy the music while I was on that vacation!

But, that is me. I just can't see spending that kind of $$ on a concert. However, you're not me, so if you really want to do this, do it!

I can be bought, but the price would be high if I had to sit thru one of her concerts. IMO, Celine blows her out of the water and I wouldn't pay nearly that much to see her.

Well, I have really thought about this. I think of how much money I spend on my Disney trips ($340/night at CT and $299/GF, etc.) but I get so much out of that. Although I can afford it, I can't get over spending that much money to see anyone (except maybe Elvis). My daughter doesn't even want to go with me and none of my friends will pay that amount of money to go with me. Thanks for all the advice. I think I will put that money to better use on a vacation or save more for SSW in November. Besides, I can see her concert on HBO...and I will purchase an Il Divo CD to listen to them............Ah.....I do feel better now! :goodvibes :) :sunny:

I am with alot of other posters. I would not pay to see her. I could never understand her popularity.

That is an obscene amount of money. Is she giving some of it to charity? I would never give that amount of money to a singer unless they were giving some of it away.

Well, as a republican, I would say let the market define what she can charge for her tickets.

If she can get that much for them, then that's fine. Free market economy.

I may loathe her politics, but I'm all with her capitalist point of view on her tickets :rotfl:

I really would like to see her and would pay $200 for a ticket. The only tickets around now are with ticket brokers and are, of course, way over the face value of the ticket. I just can't justify spending that much money, but I wish I could! Even the nose bleed section would be fine with me!

I wouldn't pay that much to see her - BUT....it's only because I'm not a huge fan.

I HAVE paid large amounts to see certain people. Paid $350 once for a front row Eagles concert and I still don't regret it. (now that was years ago - so that $350 then was REALLY high back then). I've paid quite a bit for front row Clay Aiken tickets - several times in fact. I considered buying a Golden Circle ticket for a Sarah Brightman concert. (wish I had gone but it was other circumstances that nixed that one)

My feeling is if you do have the money - why not? If it would bother you to spend it, or you don't really have that amount - don't.
