We finally found a new swim instructor for our kids. The one we used last summer and loved is not offering them any more. Anyway, I paid last night and my husband was a bit startled at the cost, $63 per child for 8 lessons. The lessons are only 30 minutes long but there are only 3 kids in the class, my two and one other. I figured this is better than getting an hour lesson with 8 to 10 kids in the class.

Just curious to what others are paying.

That sounds about right. I haven't found an "affordable" one yet. Maybe next year after I get the child support suitation fixed.

$35 a session, I think it's 8 classes per session with anywhere from 6-8 kids. :)

Our district is $30 if you're in district and $40 if you're not. They are an hour long and for two weeks at a time.

DD goes weekly with her preschool to the Y. The kids are broken into groups of 6-8. The lesson is 45 min and it costs $30 a month. So you're paying about the same as us but the group is 1/2 the size; I think you got a good deal. :)

My son participated in our town program for 8 weeks 1/2 hour classes, 10 kids, but 2 instructors. Cost was $26

ours over the summer are free!!part of the city rec program...at the YMCA it is only $12 for the session 7-8 classes made up of 6-8 kids

$80 for 15 45-min classes (no make-ups if cancelled due to weather). 3 instructors to 7 4-year olds.

Non YMCA members (ME) pay $34 for 8--1/2 hour sessions and $17 for 4--1/2 hour sessions(SAT only)

Our high school offers 3 or 4 sessions throughout the year. Each session is $18 for 6 or 8 weeks, I can't remember which. Classes are held twice per week. Mind you, there are mostly high school instructors, but the manager/teacher/coach whatever his title is, is always looking for adults to help. DH helped out for one or two sessions and got paid for it.

DD is taking them at a local indoor pool (no weather probs) we are paying $60 for 8-30 min private sessions... we looked into semi-private (3 students-$45) but they were full and the group (5 students-$30) was not to our liking...

We paid 10.00 per child. 8 sessions 30 minutes per session.

Way too much;) Swimming is a very expensive sport:( But us parents pay it, so our kids can learn to swim & maybe go on to be somebody.

My two are past lessons, they train twice a day in the summer season & some years they train during winter also, but they are having this winter off;)

I think they are $40 for 10 - 45 min lessons (over 2 weeks m-f) with about 6 - 8 kids in the group. You get a $5 discount for a second child and I think $10 discount for a third child in the same session.

Our town offers swim lessons at the local lake during the summer. $15 per child for the session (which I beleive runs four weeks). Of course you have to be a resisdent.

$8 for 10 sessions 45 minutes long and 10-12 students in a group. But since I volunteer for the Red Cross my kids are free. Can't beat that and the instructors are wonderful.

$100 for 5 30 minute lessons (private), and that's at the gym where I pay membership.:o
