I have just priced up tickets for the 5 of us (2 ads, 3kids) on the Eurostar for Feb half term and is about £600ish is that about what I would expect to pay? I keep reading about people booking packages inc hotel & train for a few hundred pounds including accomm and travel so wonder if I am doing it wrong!!

Eurostar varies greatly. We've priced it up for 4 of us (3 adults, 1 child) and got nearly £500, then other times it comes to about £300.

It really does depend on the time of year you're going. Unfortunately, February half term (being a half term) means increased prices for all travel, plus it's right on top of valentine's day which means another slight increase.

do you collect airmiles ?

we are using our tesco clubcard deals with airmiles, to get the eurostar to DLRP

its not a great conversion rate compared to other deals :( but it means its "free" for us

the timings etc were better than flying, and no hassle with transfers etc :)

£600 does seem a lot but then i am a skinflint :rotfl:

Also people 26 & under are entitled to a Youth fare which is usually cheaper then an full adult fare, although on time I looked & it was cheaper tot go as an adult:confused3

Have you been looking at the prices on the Eurostar website?
If you play about with times and routes (ie not necessarily the direct DLP service) you may be able to find it a little cheaper.

We are going out on the direct service, back via Lille, and it cost £45 each, each way, so a total of £180 for 2 of us. When we booked, that was the cheapest option. But if we'd chosen different train times on the same days, the price would have gone up.

Also, I think Eurostar works like the airlines, with prices changing according to demand. I've just checked and if I was buying our tickets now it would cost £67.50 each, each way, so a total of £270. For your dates in Feb it may well be that they know it is half term and, just like the airlines, have increased the prices accordingly.

No doubt people do sometimes get special package deals, but they have to be able to comply with the terms and conditions of those deals such as specific travel dates. Travel companies only offer deals to get bums on seats and fill rooms which would otherwise be left empty. Half term is unlikely to be a problem for them.

hi, last year we priced up as nearly £400 for 2 adults, 1 child and 1 infant who was free.I felt that this was really pricey and so rang eurostar and asked the very nice lady what would be the cheapest way for us to get there. She found us the Ebbsfleet to disney with one stop at lille for £180 return for all of us!!!
This year, i booked as early as poss and have got the direct route to disney from ashford for £269 rtn and that is for paying for DD who as now turned 4 yrs.Since then, the same train has now gone up to over £400!!!
My advice - give them a call and then you would also be more likey to be seated together which is often no the case when booking online - def worth the £5 phone booking fee!!

I find the earlier the book your tickets the cheaper the seats you get.

Plus i would expect the tickets to be rather expensive for Half term already seeing as tickets for then probably went on sale in June or July so all the cheaper seats have sold out.

I booked tickets for Feb half term for one adult and one 11 year old, London to Disney direct and the cost was £209.50.

The same journey for the same travellers for 20 December to 23 December, including 3 nights at the Holiday Inn (4 star) was only £385. :confused3

Out of interest I just priced up the same holiday (in December) and it would be £474
I priced the tickets for Feb and they would cost £272 if bought now

Definite advantage for early booking

My partner nd I are looking at booking from bedford to Disney on the eurostar 11/12-14/12, and the website prices it as £100 for one person, but if you book it for the sames time and date with 2 people it comes up to £250 (£125 each)!?!!

Does anybody know any reason for this, or solved the same issue?

Im off to DLP on monday coming, we booked hotel and eurostar separately eurostar for just two adults cost 282pounds inbound and outbound, for some reason leisure was cheaper than standard on the way there? around £20 different.

Off in two weeks on the Eurostar and have paid £118 each return - standard out and Leisure Select back.

I can get Leisure Select for £76 return or Standard for £42 return through my company but there wasn't any availability left for that fare :sad2:

Don't understand this. When you book online you can choose exactly which seats you want. :confused3

On previous posts that i have read, when people who booked online received their tickets, some had found that they had not actually been seated together, even child seats had been on their own. When i rang and booked, the lady said that the seating arrangements don't always work with online bookings!

I have never been given the oppertunity to chose my seats when i have booked online and out of the 2 times i have booked online i have never been given seat options.
