Okay last time we went it was 2 adults 1 five year old. Now 5 years later it's 2 adults, two 8 year olds, a 12 year old and 11 year old. We will eat breakfast in the room. We will have chips, fruit snacks, granola bars in our fanny packs and the kids are responsible for their OWN snacks if they want to buy them. We basically will eat two meals in the parks a day. We will eat counter service and then "graze" from our fanny packs if hungry in between. We plan on one character breakfast while we are there. Cindy's or Crystal Palace. . So how much do I budget to eat two meals a day at counter service??? Any ideas?

I recommend that you check out the menu's at the various counter service restaurants. Just click on the park, and then click on any 'counter service' restaurant, and you will find prices and descriptions.

When I went with my wife, we shared a meal during lunch on a few occasions. It cost around $6-7. For dinner we usually ordered two meals for around $12-15. We had our own water and snacks. Other than that, we splurged on a couple of nice dinners.

Most meals with a sandwich and a soda or juice at the CS places usually run us about 8 dollars a person with tax. BUT if people aren't big eaters or are not super hungry you can get soup or split a meal, just ask for an extra plate. Most places we ate at had larger portions and we could easily share with my daughter.

We typically budget 10 p/p for each CS meal. We spend much more for dinners since that is usually our big meal for the day. We also eat a smaller breakfast most days and that really helps carry us into lunch without too much snacking.

The site Vancouver recommended is a great one to look at. You can then get a better idea for meal costs, since you know what your family typically likes to eat. If you do check it out and add in taxes you can really come pretty close to a solid food budget.

On our last trip we bought food vouchers and ate at alot of the hotel food courts. The kids seemed to enjoy this and even then we shared our meals. We are not big eaters and they always give you more then enough food. If you are goiing for the character breakfast make your ps for the latest time and this meal will proably hold you over all day and you will only need to snack later in the day. My favorite thing to do. Even without the vouvhers My whole family spilts three meals for six people. They always get more then enough food. The best thing I learned from these boards was the cheese burger trick where you just order an extra bun and split a double cheese burger. Aren't these boards great! Maybe you waht to do the ice cream social for your character dining. It will save you money. When we ate at chief Mickeys five of us ate breakfast for $100. (I should say 3 because my duaghters didn't eat more then one waffle each) Gina
