How many use restaurant.com?? Are the certificates legit?

We just got back from Disney World and we used restaurant.com certificates for TGIFriday's and O'Charleys without any problems.

How far away are these two restaurants from DTD?? We are staying at SSR and don't want to drive too far to get dinner. Thanks

Always good luck here using them, just one thing is if there is a restaurant you buy often make sure the terms haven't changed when you go to buy new certificates. We used to buy for a restaurant near me, recently they changed it to min $45 food spend and not good on weekends. We are a family of 3 and will never hit the $45 food spend.

We are going to NH for a week in a month, was able to get $60 worth of certificates for less than $6! Made sure all of them have a low food spend or you can apply alcohol to the minimum spend amount. :thumbsup2

Question: My mom has some for a restaurant that went out of business. Can she call and exchange it for another?

Simple answer yes maam :thumbsup2

OH thanks..how do you find these codes???

couponmom.com always has the latest discount but if you create an account with restaurant.com they'll send you emails with the latest codes (one every few days.)

These are a great way to save on a meal. My DD and I have been using these for about 2 years, and watch for them to be 70-80% off.
We always watch for those in areas we will be going on vacation also.
WARNING -- We just got back from a week stay inVirginia, where my DD took along 3 Restaurants.com certificates. We used 2 without problems, and then one eve we walked up to Jungle Jims in Williamsburg, Va, certificate, with the correct address on it. Posted on their door was a copy of one of the certificates and on it they wrote "We do not accept these!"
I was a bit annoyed and ask the person inside what the deal was, and they said that these must be for the ones in Canada! I showed her that it has their address.:confused3 She said, well, we can give you 10% off your ticket. We walked out but ended up going back in because we had two kids, it was getting late, and we had no other plan. They did take off 10%, and threw in a slice of cheesecake.
This was our only problem ever, and I think they will give us a credit or exchange when we let them know.

Happy to see a rest.com thread going for local places to Disney. We used our first House of Blues certificate this past weekend. Waitress could not have been better, we ordered in right at $36 and when the bill came it took me by surprise for the low price. I thought Surely, they did not add gratuity and I left her a $10 additional tip in error. Yes it burned me for a little while but it was my mistake, the poor waitress had even underlined where she had added tip and I just missed it. We made her day. She was great so was the food - AMAZING. We will definitely go back again and again. Keep this thread going so we can get feedback from the locals on which ones we should buy the next time they have a better sale!!!

Also love suggesstions for places you have been to and deem great.

Glad to hear about HoB, got ones for Sept and Dec trips!

Is there an easy way to know what restaurants are close to the hotel we are staying at? We are at the Comfort Suites Maingate East, Kissimmee. We won't want to travel far for dinner, even having a car. Thanks!!!

I would call the restaurants you are interested in ahead of time to confirm they accept them. I don't doubt that all of the posters has had wonderful experiences...the first (and only) time I bought from them I gave the certificate to my mom so she could take her out of town guest out to the restaurant that I purchased the certificate for. I was really humiliated when my mom advised that they refused the certificate.

I use them all the time. Just read the rules, each restaurant has different ones. I have been using them for 4 years probably used about 40 certificates and never had a single problem with them. They rock!!!

You need to take it up with Restaurant.com and they will refund you for the cost of the certificate.

I found a local place I'd like to try, but I'm a little hesitant. Can I use three certificates at one time? If I don't have a printer, can they mail the certificates to me instead?

I had so many problems when I was using them a few years ago that I totally gave up. They always gave me credits for the unusable certificates, but my DH was so annoyed at all the wild goose chases that I waited years to use the replacements.

I tried again this year and had one good experience, then one bad. Again, a drive to a restaurant during the hours posted on the restaurant.com site and they had gone to summer hours and closed earlier. It was our only night in town, so again I had to ask for a credit.

If I ever use all the credits up, I can't say if I'll buy any more.

One site I've had good luck with that has certificates for several cities is halfoffdepot.com. Their certificates are half of the face value plus shipping. I've used them for several local places with excellent results. They mail them to you, so it would require a little more advanced planning.

I LOVE rest.com! Use it all the tie & never have a prob! Might check some of these out for next trip

You can only use one certificate at a time. Can you buy a larger $$ certificate?

Don't know about the mailing question, sorry. Do you know anyone with a printer? I think that would be easier (and fastest)

Most libraries have Internet access and printers you can use for a small fee.

Do these credits for unused certificates expire? I know I had some a few years ago, but they were not in my account when I looked.

Don't know if this has been posted today, but they have added a number of the restaurants at Swan & Dolphin. Shula's, Garden Grove, Todd's Bluezoo, etc. Code is now EAT. :woohoo:

Can anyone advise me of some good restaurants around the Buffalo airport area? I have a $25 certificate to use on restaurant.com but I don't know the restaurants in that area.
