How many trips to the water parks does it take for a PAP to be worth it?
We currently ha AP's and would like to try the water parks. How many waterpark days would we have to spend to make it worth it?
Any input is appreciated.

Difference in adult price

454-348=106 so about 3 trips makes it cost effective over paying the daily fee. FYI my kids love the water parks.

My boys really enjoy DisneyQuest and the waterparks more than the parks.

I've found what works for us is an AP for myself (if I attend Food and Wine I get the AP) and 10 day base No EXP for the guys. Then they get the DQ/WP annual pass (A $120 C $99).

The 10 day base has lasted us several years. We rarely hop. We go early and are usually out by 2pm. We swim relax and either return to the same park later or they hit Disneyquest. DQ stays open late so a great way to fill an evening and you can spend more in the Arcades at the resorts.

We all had AP's 1 year and I could not drag them to the parks enough times to make it worth it. They were all up for DQWP so the next year we started with that.

This way can be more of an initial investment, but now I only have to renew the DQ/WP AP's each year and that runs less than $400 for the 3 of them and everyone is happy.

Hope you don't mind me jumping in to ask - where is the best place to get the 10 day No exp. That is exactly what we were thinking about getting. Our first trip with DVC is planned for November.

We were considering the same thing and realized the Water Park Option along with the No expiration Option is a better deal than to upgrade our AP to PAP. With the Water Park/No Exp option, you don't have to worry about making sure you go to the water park at least 3-4 times to make it worth it. You can use your ticket at your leisure.

We realized that we would only go twice on one of our trips. The other trip is in the cooler weather, so we don't bother at that time.

10 day, no-hop, no-expire, + water park tickets are a great deal since they are good for life. For the typical DVC owner, they are worth getting even if you normally use AP's. Someday you will use those tickets.

I agree. We have mixed park ticket media and that's what works best for us. We mix it up and if we do plan on hopping, we have some left over days for that too.

Hope you don't mind me jumping in to ask - where is the best place to get the 10 day No exp. That is exactly what we were thinking about getting. Our first trip with DVC is planned for November.

What we actually did was when DVC gave 2 free AP's (Vouchers) for adding on at SSR, I used them to purchase the 10 day passes for us all. So that was a few years back.

Mousesavers usually has good deals listed in their monthly email and www.undercovertourist.com has good deals.

So the daily adult ticket would be about $50.00? Approx. how much is a child ticket?

I only purchase an WDW AP for myself with DVC discount.

We all have 10 day tickets (mine has plusses) which we purchased years ago and we still have many days left on each ticket. Years I attend F&W, I just buy the AP because I am at Epcot every day and I save my 10 day ticket for off years.

We then purchase the Disney Quest/Waterpark Annual Pass for Dh and the boys each year. That's about $350 a year for the 3 of them.

We stay 2 weeks at a time and since DQ stays open late, they like to spend the evenings there so we would burn thru the plusses pretty quick between DQ and the waterparks.

It does sound complicated, but PAP's would cost us over $1500 a year and would be pretty much wasted on my Dh and the boys, so I tailored our tickets to the way we tour and cut our yearly expenditure in half.
