How many trips a year?

I was just wondering how many trips each year including DVC that you family takes each year. I feel like we vacation a lot and am curious to see what other families that own like us do throughout the year.
I would do a poll, but am not quite sure how. Thanks

Pre-DVC, 1-2 per year.

Post-DVC, 3 per year.

We feel very lucky to be able to do so.

I don't know what I'd do without these breaks from reality.

before DVC and more important AP's it was 1 with a small trip in every once in awhile (this was family and me solo for paintball)

Now we are are doing 4 trips on AP years and 2 trips on non-AP years.

Depends on how one wants to count 'a trip'.

We'll go to Florida at a minimum of a couple of times a year, but will stay anywhere from 6 to 10 weeks at a time.

During that time, we might go to Disney for a awhile, then go somewhere else in Florida, then somewhere else, and eventually back to Disney again once or twice (or thrice) during the same 'trip', before eventually going home to Indiana. So is that one Disney trip, or two, or three, or six?

Or saying it another way, in a year's time, we'll spend about 30+ nights total at or near Disney, a combination of DVC, on-site hotels, and off-site (non DVC timeshares or hotels). Ranging from 1 to 7 nights at a time.

We do a lot of combined trips with my brother. Sometimes I'll get the DVC 2-B/R and he stays with us, and other times he'll get a 2-B/R and we'll stay with him.

We take 4-6 trips a year. The lowest amount of time is 5 days and the longest (twice a year) is 14 days. Before joining DVC last year, hubby was a CM, so we went 5-6 times a year, so joined DVC so that we could still do this.

To Disney 2-3 times/year. We also usually do 2-3 long weekends away either camping or something else.

In 2004 we went to Maui, out east (Halifax), Las Vegas and Disney in the same year. I definitely think we travel more than the average person/family.

Joined DVC In November 03 and have made 3 trips, so I guess it averages to 1 a year. This year we went twice, and next year we plan on going twice.

4 or 5 depending. (though not every trip is just WDW) With an Annual pass, it's hard not to just drive down for the weekend.

Prior to DVC, it was occasional despite the fact that we live less than 4 hours away. DD4-going-on-24 changed that!

With DVC, we are going twice a year, for 4-5 days at a time.

Currently, it's May and November, but we might move the November '07 trip up to October depending on whether we take Grandma and Great Aunt again.

We still haven't managed to do any completely non-park days, but we're working on it.

We joined DVC in 2003 and have been twice so far, we only purchased 150 points but the plan was to bank/borrow a year and have a big vacation to wdw every three years as flights from the UK to Orlando are very expensive during school holidays.

But we do try and get away at least three times a year. Our plan so far for 2007 is:
Feb - Skiing in France (first time for dw and dd)
Jul/Aug - 2 week trip in Europe somewhere
Oct - usually try and arrange small break somewhere.

We will have flown to Florida for some time at WDW/DVC 6 times this year, and it looks like there will be 6 trips next year, but only 4 will be DVC, and of those, only 1 will be with family, the 4 generations again . We have asked friends to meet us off site for a weekend next year, we'll see how that works out. I am determined not to use points for any weekend days in '07.

2003 - 1 trip to WDW
2004 - 1 trip to DL & San Diego
2005 - 2 trips (1 to WDW, 1 to DL) *Purchased DVC*
2006 - 2 trips to WDW (technically 3, but we are going for NYE so the majority of the trip will be in 2007)
2007 - 2 trips to WDW planned, 1 to vegas (technically for work), Oh and maybe to Orlando for a different conference

I think we are going to probably shift to taking a trip to WDW once per year, maybe 2 trips every other year.

I have to say that right now my vacationing is slightly limited as I have to use a lot of my leave to take courses for college. When I'm done in 2008 I hope that will change my vacation habits so that we can travel more.

We typically get in 2-3 trips in a year. My DH does accumulate vacation as quickly as I do so some trips are pretty short. Our longest is only 10 nights. We usually go over to the CA Northern Coast for a few nights in the winter, our springs and summers are usually too busy for more than a long weekend camping trip on the coast, the fall is when we go to DL or WDW.Our kids are grown, but when they were younger we didn't travel quite as often. Too many school, sports, 4-H, & FFA activities.

We went to WDW once every 18 months pre-DVC. We have always done 4, 4-day camping trips every summer, and that has not and will not change now that we are DVC'ers.

We haven't been members for that long, but in our first year as owners, we will go 3 times. Once was just adults for F&W, and 2 others with the kids. Not sure how things will be once we have settled in to DVC life.

We will also take one other non-Disney trip (more likely a driving trip as opposed to somewhere we have to fly) plus our annual camping trips.

For the first time EVER in our lives, our vacation time is actually limited to number of vacation days DH gets as opposed to money. We definitely credit this to our DVC purchase!
