How Many Trick or Treaters?

We live at the top of a hill where there are only four houses. Only two have children (including ours) so we have no trick-or-treating up here.

My brother-in-law just moved to a large, upscale subdivision in the next county over where a lot of people live (then everyone drives here to Charleston to work). He was going to hand out toothbrushes (he's a dentist) until his new neighbors told him they get 1200-1500 kids every year. No kidding!! I guess with two hours that's 10 to 15 kids a minute.

The thing is, that area has a lot of rural neighborhoods which don't lend themselves well to trick-or-treating so parents have to drive their kids to subdivisions. A lot of them pick this one! :rotfl:

We experience some of that where we go (to my in-law's house) but it's usually more like 200-300 kids.

I have to say, though, it is absolutely priceless to see all those happy, happy kids running around...so proud of their costumes, so happy to be getting all that candy, etc. :cloud9: I LOVE making a huge deal about their costumes when they come to my in-laws' door. They get so giddy. :p

We only had 40 TOTs, but our development is not very large and there are two very large developents less than a mile away that seem to get all the traffic in this area.

We only had 63--way down from the 180+ from last year. I'm kinda sad, because I love giving out the candy and now I have soooo many leftovers! I guess the kids in the neighborhood are growing up.

we always get mobbed by trick or treaters... we have a LGB train (like the one in germe]any in epcot) that goes completely around our house.. it plays music and we even have a clown and monkey pump train that follows it.. I put the candy in bags and the bags in the train carts, and when children come the train stops and they load up there sacks.. some little kids even follow it around the whole house... I love hallowen it is my favorite holiday..

this year's total 132 children
I had to go through my son's bag and recycle the candy that he won't eat..lol..

We had 4, they were together. Sad as I enjoy seeing the children. It is the only thing I dislike about living in a rural area.

We only had one. ONE
In previous years we've had about 6 but it's been dwindling over the years.
I Buy the BIG BARS KIDS! That one boy made out!
No one knows our little Lane is here, you wouldn't know it's a road because it's way off the beaten path and it's dark, you have to go around the bend to know there are any houses here.

Not enough. We have 3 bags of candy left. So much for my diet! (Not sure what the actual number was, since DH handed out candy while I went with the kids, but I think we went through about 4 bags of candy.) I already ate 5 candybars last night and I had a Kit-kat for breakfast.

We had somewhere between 200 and 300 kids show up at our house last night. We are know far and wide as the "juicebox house" since we have been passing out juice boxes to the kids for as long as I can remember. This year we started handing out TWO of the Capri Sun juice bags instead of the traditional one Hi-C juice box. We were a big hit with the kids. And our house didn't get egged this year, so we must be doing OK.
