How many times?

Hello!

Just wanted to find out from the adult groups and solos, how many times a year do you visit Disney? For how long each time?

I have never gone solo but am seriously considering it even though DH wouldn't like it too much - would worry excessively about me! My DH (can't believe people go this often and definitely has fun but isn't the fanatic!) and I (Disney fanatic, never stops talking about it!).

I have always wanted to go at October, November or December but due to DHs work we have never been able to go. His work blacks out that time and no one can take any time off including the store manager (DH). Retail can suck! Anyway, just wanted to know how many times you all go!

DW and I just went this past March for seven days. We had so much fun, we are going again this December for 11 days. This trip is going to be our "determination trip." We are going to determine whether or not we love Disney or just didn't get enough last time. March was her first time ever and marked 16 years since my previous trip. If we decide we love Disney we plan on returning there every December for at least a week, most likely 10 days.

Hi,

I went in May for six days and am going in December for six more, as well as the four-night Disney Wonder MouseFest cruise to the Bahamas. All solo; if I waited for someone to go with me, I'd never leave home.

Jim

I go twice a year, once with DH, then one other time solo. My solo trips are generally about 5-6 days, but I'm already in the planning stages of my longest ever solo trip next year-9 days!
One way that might help your DH support your going solo. Is there any attraction that you love, but he always dreads being dragged on? Be sure to let him know you'll do that one solo. Part of the reason DH is so supportive of my solo trips is that he knows I'll be doing IASW, Dumbo, Cindy's Carousel, basically all the Fantasyland rides then, so the pressure's off him-he won't have to do them when we go together.

I just got back from my first Solo trip and I have to give it a 2 thumbs up...one wouldn't begin to be enough to express how much fun I had. I met some great people and saw some interesting speakers, rode rides as many times as I wanted, ate where and when I wanted....it was great! I'm going again in 2 months for the second time this year and I'm thinking of getting an annual pass so I can go even more often!!!!...Tell your hubby not to worry....you can't get much better for safe solo vacation places than WDW..... :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :cheer2: pirate: princess: :rolleyes1 :joker:  :wave2:

I go to the parks 3-6 times a year, with 1 or 2 of the trips being solo. I have done solos for 3-5 days. It is amazing!!!!

At least once a year, but more often twice a year...a couple of years saw 4 trips...all depends on the cost of airline tickets. :moped:

I normally go to WDW 4 times a year (May, Oct, Dec, Jan). The length of the trips range from 7-30 days (Usually the Jan trip is the longest).

May is solo. Oct is with DH. Dec is solo. Jan is mostly solo, however, DH flies down to visit for a week or so, when he can get away. :teeth:

DH doesn't have as much free time as I do--he says, "At least one of us should have some fun!" :rotfl: So I do! :goodvibes

You can see from my signature how much Judy and I had gone. Now, of course, I go as often as I want (and sometimes when I don't want since I work there two days a week).

I usually make a solo trip to WDW each year, for five nights, during one of the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

In addition, I sometimes make a three night visit in March so I can watch some spring training baseball at Disney's Cracker Jack Stadium., and visiting some of my favorite attractions at the WDW resort parks.

Enjoy.

Same here. More often, but shorter trips, when I lived in FL.

Can't think of a better place for a solo vacation, but then I can't think of a much better vacation for *any* vacation, so maybe that's not a fair comparison. :wizard:

Most years I go in Early May and Early December. Usually stay in Orlando area around 10 days total 5-6 days at a WDW value like POP and 4-5 days at RPR over at UF. The last 4 years these have been solo trips only and I enjoy my trips more from not having to be a tour guide and meal coordinator.
Later

It really depends on my work schedule (self-employed here, but DH is an employee with a big company w/vacation time), but we've gone up to six times per year for three- and four-day weekends, and other years, we've gone twice and stayed a full week each time.

We go about 5-6 times per year, usually for the weekend or Thurs-Sun. We live close, so it's a short drive. Not sure how much we would go if it depended on plane tickets...I can't imagine going fewer than twice per year. I would be in withdrawal!

i try to go solo twice a year, first part of the year [april/may]then the later part of the year, this year the later part is Christmas

I usually go once a year, but I work it out so that I can get two trips out of one AP (ie last year I went in Feb, so this year I'm going in Jan.) I'd love to go more often, but just affording one trip is hard enough!

I go once a year to Disney World. Last year we visited family in California, so we went to Disneyland for a day. It's nice, but I think that I'm spoiled with WDW and all that it has to offer. I usually take 1 real vacation each year and it's typically to WDW. This year my sister is joining me, but have gone solo in the past and have just as much fun. Next year I'm planning a trip in October for MNSSHP, since I have never been at that time of year before. It may be 2 trips, as my sister and her family may go in June (after school gets out) and my other sister and I would probably join them.

Normally, I go for 8-10 days. This year it's for 10 days, since I leave the day after Thanksgiving and we have that day off from work. With weekends, it ends up being 10 days at WDW, but I only use 5 days of vacation.

My wife and I (both nearing 60) go about once a month for 2-3 days each trip. Needless to say...we enjoy the magic.

It was funny, when making a 3 day reservation at FW for later this month the CM on the phone said "Welcome back, I see you've been here 11 times since June". I guess we go a lot. Of course, we have APs and live a little over an hour away...

This year, my DW and I have been down in Jan for a week, March for 10 days, May for 6 days, leave Friday for 4 days and will be back down for 10 days starting Dec 30.

This isn't typical, but it sure is fun!

Two adults here. We go twice per year. One is a week long trip. The other is either a week long or 4-5 day long trip, depending on our shcedules.

If we're really lucky, we squeeze in a third one, which is usually a 5 day trip.
