How many times will Santa, aka delivery drivers visit your house prior to Christmas?

I like the idea of shopping local because I know if I don’t, the day will come where online is my only option, but online is so much more convenient.

In 20-30 minutes I can shop the equivalent of an entire mall and several strip shopping centers, saving hours and hours.
Depends on what you are buying. My wife right now is walking around the house in the sweater she got yesterday from Disney Online trying to decide whether to keep it or return it. The issue is the fit. Sleeves too long, diameter at the bottom too small. Clothing and shoes can be a a hassle buying online. The trips back and forth to UPS to return something burn up just as much time as if we went to the mall, and tried on for fit there. At this point, she is keeping the sweater.

too many to count or admit to.... enough so I leave a bowl of snacks and candy as treats for those who have to brave my driveway in the winter time

We don't normally do a ton of online orders as gifts certainly not the amount that some have mentioned. Many times when we're doing online ordering for gifts where they are going to multiple people we do ordering of items together. So we'll shop for X person along with Y person and Z person at the same time. It's only when the persons in mind have told us what they want in too far of a time frame from others that we have multiple orders hitting the house.

Like my husband just ordered a surge protector for our house (needed higher joule protection than the Walmart had available for the thing we want to plug into it) and with it he ordered what his dad wanted for Christmas. Those came in 1 box Wednesday from Amazon though that was delayed from being delivered on Tuesday due to winter weather in our area on Monday. We're waiting on both sister-in-laws and his mom to know what to get them. We know what step-father-in-law wants which is something we get in the store.

We had ordered a stick vac from Costco on Thanksgiving which came via FedEx last Sunday (early) and I had ordered a walking pad/treadmill a few days before Thanksgiving that was delivered via UPS a few days ago on Tuesday (early and props to the delivery person as that was a heavy item and they put it up by my front door, I have expected them to leave up by the garage door).

I agree with you here. Clothes are my main issue and unless I know for sure the item will work because I already own it I have to really weigh what I purchase online. I can do shoes but prefer to purchase them in store. It's really only when I already own the shoe that I can purchase with ease online. Slippers are pretty easy to buy online for me as well.

If buying from Amazon I always make sure the clothes are free returns and then I weigh if I should buy multiple sizes. I just did that back in the spring for some quick dry capris and I bought two different sizes based on the reviews. When I got them I matched them up and the Large was more than an inch smaller than the Medium I have in two different brands bought from two different stores of the same type of item (quick dry capris made out of very similar fabric composition). I kept the Large since it still fit me although I was wanting an looser fit but sent back the Medium I had order stating the sizing was off. It would have been really easy if I could have just tried that on in store.

That said when it's Amazon I'll take the Kohl's return option that is almost always available and use the coupon they give you in store (which mine was still giving those out as of the summer) for returns. I've only had two returns in all the time I've shopped at Amazon that only allowed for UPS as a free return and technically for me UPS is actually closer and less overall time spent returning there than Kohl's I just would prefer to return to Kohl's ;)

This exactly. It helps that our adult kids will share links to the items on their wish list. Many stores they send links for are not in our area. Or merchandise is not available. So I get frustrated that I wasted my time and gas when I could have just ordered it and gotten exactly what I wanted at my door.

Dh and I shopped in person for 5 hours today. No way could I shop in person and get what I need to by Christmas.

We always shop at 1 local store with 2 locations with different merchandise for Christmas gifts. Today, we did our part at one of the stores.

Now, between decorating, wrapping, crafting a gift, cleaning, work and daily chores, I'll be lucky to be ready by Christmas .
