We bought a condo in 1986 and lived there until 1992. We purchased our house in 1992 and have lived there since then. We remodeled it and added a 2nd floor. I look all the time on realtor.com to see what houses are out there for sale (just a habit I guess), DH says a BAD habit! Well, the other day I came across a home in a neighborhood that I have always admired. I scheduled an appointment to see it (curiousity gets the best of me). The house itself is not much bigger than what I have, but it absolutely is a "wow" effect house. The backyard has open space/wooded and the side yard is huge . . .DH liked it, but doesn't think he wants to put in an offer. He isn't into moving because he has made our house into the nicest house in the neighborhood (landscaping, etc) and this new house would need the same affect. The new house is in a more kid-friendly neighborhood and my son would have a ton of kids to play with. I go back and forth on what I want to do . . .

Soooo how many times have you moved?

I lived in the same house through high school.
When I started college in fall of 1996, I lived in the dorm for a year. Then two of my friends and I moved into a townhouse until march/april of 1997. Then we moved into a house.
In August of 1998, then boyfriend (now DH) moved here and I moved in w/ him in his apartment. In late spring of 1999, we moved into a nicer apartment. In November of 2001, we moved into a two bedroom apartment. And finally, in March of 2002, we moved into a house. We'll be here at least until 2005.

So that makes...7 times in the past 7 years!

About 20 times in my whole life.(almost 44 years.)

Lived in 2 places with my parents, as a kid.

Lived in 1 apartment and 2 houses since being married.(almost 18 years).

The rest of the moves were just me, between the ages of 18 - 26...not sure what I was looking for, lol.

6 times from birth until now.

12 moves:
Zanesville, Ohio
Cincinnati, Ohio
Arcadia, Ohio
North Ridgeville, Ohio
Newton Falls, Ohio
Wellington, Ohio - 1st house
Wellington, Ohio - 2nd house (while in college)
Euclid, Ohio
Warrensville Heights, Ohio
Hermosa Beach, California
Long Beach, California
Warrensville Heights, Ohio
Macedonia, Ohio

4 times while still living with my parents

11 times after I was on my own/married

Twenty times since birth--and ten times since college. Far too many times if you ask me! I hate moving although the last two times have been very smooth. . .gotta' love movers! The only hitch was building the house and living in a temporary residence after having a lovely home before the move. I still have fond memories of that temporary house though. . .

It depends on what counts as a move. Let's see:

There's the apartment in Queens where I lived the first year of my life. My parents then bought their house in Queens (1 move). I lived in three different college dorm rooms in Albany (4 moves). Got out of the dorms and lived in three different apartments in Albany for senior year and beyond (7 moves). Moved to Harrisburg, PA (8). Met the girl who is now my DW and moved with her to an apartment in Elizabethtown, PA (9). Got a job in Cleveland and got an apartment downtown (10). Got married and bought a house in Cleveland (11).

So I guess that makes 11 moves since birth, 6 since graduating from college.

So far just once. We are currently looking to move now. Need a bigger house in a better school district with lots of kids in the neighborhood! Hopefully we will find something soon.
