How many times have you had COVID?

No he didn't, but he said he's learned his lesson and will from now on. We've seen people randomly wearing masks-in Walmart the other day for example.
This was the first time he called the doctor and took Paxlovid. Twenty four hours later and he feels remarkably better already.

I've been the often lone person wearing one at my Walmart. 😁

Glad he's feeling better.

Tested positive once-I had absolutely no symptoms. I think I might have had it one or two other times (mild symptoms, like a cold), but testing wasn't widely available yet so I don't know for sure.

Zero times and no vaccinations. I have not been sick this whole time either, which prior to 2020 I would normally have 2-3 colds per year. DH had it November 2020 and I shared a bed with him the first 3 nights, never got it. I was around DD when she started getting symptoms, and around co-workers when they started.

Interesting note, neither my parents or my 3 siblings have had it either, despite others having it in the household. So maybe our genes are helpful. Also, I take either a Zinc, C, or D every night, or all three if I feel I've been exposed.

Once. Last summer. I’ve had all of the shots and boosters, too. I think I had a fairly mild case. I only felt like I was dying for about 12 hours. lol

But it took a good couple of weeks to feel back to my usual self. :hourglass

Never had it but DH had it once but I never caught it from him even though I was in the same car with him driving home from WDW.

Twice. Both from school: Septembers 2022 and 2024. I've had the vaccine and one booster. The vaccines and the first infection knocked me off my feet. The last infection was relatively mild.

I've been pretty lucky this winter, however, and haven't picked up one of the other 15,345,987 viruses that seem to be going around. (Currrently, it's pink eye!) I've become a big hand-washer and lysol-sprayer. :)

Never & neither has my husband. We have had all COVID vaccines & boosters. No masking or other extraordinary measures. I work full time in an office & hubby is retired but out & about a lot.

2x, fully vaccinated. Both times were pretty bad, and recovery was extremely slow and drawn out. The 2nd time I didn't really feel fully back to normal for 6-8 weeks. Not something I want again. We just had our most recent vaccines about a month ago, so hoping that the protection will be strong for our upcoming cruise.

Twice, July 2023 & September 2024, both times caught at WDW. We’ve had all vaccines & boosters. We were essential workers who worked in person until retirement..me in April 2022 & Husband in May 2023. We started taking daily zinc, Vit c & d in March 2020. We skipped Disney trips in 2020 because of work requirements but started going again in 2021. We went 5 times in 2021 & 3 or 4 times a year since then with masking in planes & lines. The trip in July 2023 we had cut back on both the vitamin’s & masking. We tested + 2 days after getting home. Husband got very sick immediately & was better 24 hours later. I started with a scratchy throat, felt like the mildest cold for 5 days then got pretty sick, with fever, severe nausea, exhaustion & body aches for a week. The exhaustion lasted another 2 weeks.

September 2024 husband felt really sick 6 days into a 10 day trip , fever, headache & nausea & tested+. I was + the next day & just a runny nose. We came home that day… wore KN95 masks as soon as we left our hotel room. Again, husband was better after 24 hours. I got a fever & felt sick 2 days after we got home… headache, fever & exhaustion. Thankfully it wasn’t as bad as the first time & I felt much better 2 days later.

We’ve continued the zinc & vitamins since the 1st Covid in July 2023. We went to WDW last Christmas week & did not get sick. We masked at airports, planes & a few crowded lines. And got the latest booster 3 weeks before our trip. No illnesses this trip. We intend to continue with boosters if they’re available going forward as well as masking on planes, airports & anytime we’re stuck in contained lines for long periods.

Just a little tidbit for the people who are sure they had Covid in December 2019, January or early February 2020, before it was known to be in the US. I worked in an urban hospital. Thee was a terrible respiratory virus that winter in our area. It went thru almost every member of the unit’s staff & throughout many of the hospital’s staff. Once Covid was known about & in the news, many workers were absolutely convinced they must have had it in January. As soon as testing was available, hospital staff was offered testing for antibodies, to see if you had Covid prior to diagnosing was available. Not 1 person was found to have antibodies. No one. So the chances anyone who hadn’t traveled out of the US or had close contact with someone who did had Covid in January 2020 are minuscule.

Twice that I know of. 2022 and 2023. First time was like a mild flu. Second was like a cold (probably would not have even tested that time but I was hosting a get together at my house and thought I should before having everyone over.)

Tested positive for Flu A last month. First time I have had the flu in over 10 years.

I think 4x. I am a public school teacher... that doesn't help...
We used to have a saying when I was a teacher, "The next time we have a big plague, the only ones who'll survive are the cockroaches and the school teachers!" I remember when I was a teacher, we caught everything.

None. Fully vaccinated and lucky I guess.

Once. Fall 2022. My son got it first and then I got it a couple of days later. Both fully vaccinated and boosted. Symptoms were pretty mild. My son’s symptoms were like a bad cold. Mine was an awful headache, sore throat and sinus issues.

Never, that I know of. We have the free tests and I have been tested in doctor's offices or at pharmacies. I may have had it and not known, though.

Zero.

I believe everyone else in my family has had it at least once.

I'm also the only one in my family with O+ blood though and from what I gather it makes me less likely to get it to begin with.
