How many times do your plans change?

our forthcoming trip is beginning of May-

with the recent changes-I've played around with my days soo much....

How many times do you rearrange park days or simply make slight tweaks?

Several times. Things start to fall into place the closer we get to the trip. Our trip for June is pretty much finalized. It's the first trip for three of our grandsons. Out fall trip is just the two of us and its for the majority of F@W. That will be planned on the move since its so long a trip.

Once I make my ADR's my parks stay the same. Last years trip I made a plan and then put it away for awhile. I then decided I should rearrange it. Well, I started from scratch and made the exact same plan. Needless to say, I stuck with it.

Park/day selection rarely changes, once set up with Easy's best park/day help. Emh park give direction as to what will be the crowded park, we tend to visit the low crowd ones. Not a lot of DR's set, and little or no changes in those. Mostly fluid.

That's pretty much what we do. Plans change when we actually put them into action so I don't particularly fuss with making a detailed plan that we have to follow to the letter. We generally make sure to make our dining plans - we do sometimes changes breakfast ADRs the day before - but everything else is up to how we feel at the time.

For example - last December we went to MK as planned. BOG breakfast 9:30 am. Started touring but 7DMT was down during our FP+ so we automatically got an open one for the remainder of the day. Figured we'd do it later in the afternoon. Did a few other things. Went to BTMRR during FP+ which was also down. That night was EMH which we had planned to do. It was a hot day so by 2 pm we decided to ditch the park and go back to the hotel and sit in the pool. After sitting in the pool for an hour we just decided to put our feet up, watch TV until dinner time and then come back for an early evening. So we missed EMH, 7DMT, BTMRR and a few other things. We had a lovely relaxing time together which is partly what the whole vacation is about.

So basically - we build a framework rather than a set plan, book ADRs, book fastpasses and then go with what feels right at the time. We're not morning people so the framework helps to guide us to the right transportation first thing in the morning and puts our feet on a path. Then it's somewhat freestyle from there. Doesn't work for everyone but it works really well for us.

Half a dozen times usually. I'm getting ready to rearrange our short 4 day June trip again since my husband has said he'd like to meet with the DVC people. I'm excited about that - I've been trying to talk him into buying DVC for years.

About a thousand times a day before the trip, about ten thousand times per day after the trip, lol.

IF several things fall into place, and IF I can make a few things happen, I just might be able to put together a trip for the first week of December. Already I've considered about 700 possible scenarios, and that's just for the first two days alone!

As stated earlier: multiple times and its all a process. Currently, within three days I booked at the Boardwalk, canceled and moved to the GF, and upgraded to GF CL. Typically we play around with dates, thank gosh this time we haven't had to do that.

Our daily plans can easily change. We begin with a park/meal reservation we want to see/keep and go from there. FP + has been good to us, since we are 4 adults, we don't always have a rush to get into the park at opening. If we choose to go out at night, we can enter the park around 10 and still have some things to do. I really enjoy planning, yet having a rigid vacation is not so much fun. It is a lesson for me to let go of my Type A tendencies and relax.

Is gazillion bajillion a real phrase? If not, at least the truth lol:P THEN once there, while ADR's and those you-fought-tooth-and-nail-for FP's might not change; pretty much all the "normal" FP's and even park days are still on the table. Bc that's FINALLY when DH gets excited and involved; and starts becoming an MDE expert haha. What he doesn't know is how much of "the plan" was padded with stuff I was ok to give up/change anyway, to give him room to be last minute involved & know he's important; while I can protect the no-way-in-hades-this-is-changing kind of things (he thinks it's bc he actually wins at negotiations from time to time-evil wife laugh:ssst:).

My general process:
  • Book room and flights
  • Initial park day plan with historic crowd estimates
  • Revise park day the plan when hours are released
  • Plan wish list for ADRs
  • Make ADRs, tweak as needed
  • Make FP+, tweak as needed
After all this, I feel like I can just let the fun "flow" once we get there because I have done the research and laid the foundation for a good trip.

Some of the plans never change. Our room is booked and won't change, our other plans aren't made yet.

A bunch this year with all the changes going on at Disney. I'm still going around in circles thinking about changing again because the Morning Magic Fantasyland and hoping the Animal Kingdom will start the night time activities. I usually enjoy changing things around and changing plans but this year has been the hardest. It is beginning to make me frustrated because I'm not sure what parks to go to on what days and what dining reservations to make for us.
