Last February at a conference, I found out that this years conference was going to be in Orlando. That is the same conference that made me have to cancel my plans to go to WDW in February 2011 and run the princess half marathon.
I get home and we start planning our trip. I think we have had 6 major changes so far which I will tell you all about.

So as soon as I got home from the conference and told DH that the 2012 conference was at the Yacht club, we start to plan. We own DVC at Animal Kingdom villia but knew if we were going to use DVC points for this trip we would stay at Beach club since it is so close to the Yacht club. We waited till the 7 month window and booked a studio for Thursday through Saturday night. Figured we would fly down early on Thursday. Fly home late on Sunday. The girls would only miss 2 days of school.

I'm LJ. I'm a pretty big lurker on these boards, so you may or may not know me.
Here I am with my DD at Dorney Park:

I went to WDW for the first time in 1993. I flew on a plane for the first time alone to met DH who was my boyfriend at the time and his Father (and his wife) and brothers in Miami where they were just coming off a cruise they went on for DH's grandparents anniversary. They pick me up at the airport and we drove to Orlando. We stayed at a Ramada inn offsite.
My next trip was also offsite. We did a carnival cruise and a short WDW trip.

Here is DH on a segway tour in 2009

DH as been to WDW more times than I have. He loves planning where we are going eat. His goal is to try every disney restaurant.

My girls are 6 1/2. They have been to WDW a lot.
Their first trip was when they were 17 months old. (10/06) DH had a conference in Orlando near sea world, so we went 5 days earlier and stayed at All star music in the family suites.

2nd trip was the following year(9/07). This time MIL and one of my BIL's joined us. We took the DVC tour, but didn't make the plunge.

3rd trip was the following March(3/08). We were only planning on going to visit FIL at his house in FL. They live about 2 hours south of WDW. Some how we went up staying at Hilton Grand Vacation club with them in WDW. Last day of trip, FIL and his wife were in guest services upgrading their passes to fl residents passes (it was a black out period so they had to wait till the last day), DH asked how much to upgrade our tickets to APs. We walked out with APs. Came home and started to plan a trip in December staying at Poly. We booked the room, then we got an email from the guide from our DVC tour with the latest incentives. We bought 160 AKV points, and switched our Dec trip to SSR to use our developer points. FIL also bought into DVC.
10/08 DH's work conference was in Ft Laurdale. We decided to go to WDW and go to the MNSSHP. A good internet friend of mine was in WDW with her DH that same weekend, so I got to meet her. This was the first trip that the girls need tickets We got them APs.

12/08 was the SSR trip. We stayed in a studio the first night. Then a one bedroom for next 5 nights then back to a studio for the last night. We met my best friend and helped her celebrate her son's 2nd birthday. FIL also met us there.

8/09: We did a 9 night trip to celebrate MIL's 60th birthday. Stayed at ALV and BLT just MIL joined us.

10/09 we joined FIL for a stay in a 2 bedroom at OKW.
6/10 we did AKV jambo house concierge. FIL met us again but they stayed on the 4th floor in a studio. We finished this trip with a 2 night stay at universal so we could go to Harry Potter land.

Dh goes to book the tickets for our trip, and he calls me and says we can go Wednesday afternoon instead of Thursday, this way we will have an extra day.
He calls DVC and changes adds wednesday night.
Now if we decide not to check a bag, we can pick the girls up at school at the end of the day, or if we check bags we can just pick them up a little early.
They are going to miss 2 days of school. This will be the first full days they both have missed this year. Dani did miss most of a day when we had to take her to the ENT.

DH made all of our ADRS. Then FIL and DH was talking about how we were going to WDW in February, and some how our nice family trip changed into FIL and his wife coming. FIL used his DVC points to book a 2 bedroom at BCV. We cancelled our studio and had to change our ADRs.

Arrival day: leaving after the girls finish school. Getting to MCO at around 8. My plan is to go to Beaches and Cream for dinner. I really want to try the No way Jose, but knowing FIL we will get the kitchen sink.

2nd day: Ohana breakfast
La Hacienda de San Angel for dinner. I'm not sure if I will go it will just be DH, FIL, FIL' s wife and the girls since I'm supposed to be in WDW for work.
3rd day: Cape May Breakfast.
Via Napali for dinner- hopefully the timing will work with my confrence schedule
4th day: This day will probably be DH with the girls (and FIL and his wife)
Tusker house breakfast
50's prime time for a dinner
5th day: Chef Mickey's for breakfast

Our flight to MCO is leaving at 4:55. The airport is about a 1/2 hour from the girls school. I'm trying to decide on what time to pick them up from school. If i pick them up at dismal they can leave any time after 3:10, but last time i did that we didn't leave the school till 3:25. Of course part of that was Sydney not realizing she was a pick up and was waiting in her classroom to be sent to the bus. I don't think she would forget on Wednesday. We can pick them up at school at around 2:20, which would get us to the airport at 3. The girls have their special at 2:25 to 3:05 (library and art) so they really won't be missing much.
Maybe we can even stop and grab food to eat on the plane. I wonder if there is a subway between school and the airport?
This way we don't have to eat the crappy taste less airport food.
Plus we will have more room for the ice cream at beaches and cream.

My girls just asked me to make them autograph books.
Here is a photo I found of the one i made in 2009

I'm hoping I still have them saved on my one of the external hard drives since it is not on this laptop.

Since I'm going to be at meetings during much of this trip, I had not paid much attention to the dates. But while talking to friends we realized that our flight home was Superbowl Sunday. At night. I think we were landing at 11pm. Major problem with this was we had a bunch of people who where expecting to come to our house to watch the game. Or maybe eat the food.

DH checked the flights again, and the flight leaving MCO in the morning was cheaper and this way we will be home for the superbowl. Especially since the Giant's are in the superbowl.
We are landing at 1:25, should be home by 2- 2:30. and around 5-6 o'clock i have about 20 people coming over.

Found your PTR from mine! Your plans look great and your girls a beautiful! Can't wait to hear more about your trip and how everything went!

Thanks for joining in. I was starting to feel like I was talking to myself.

Your trip sounds very fun! You are brave to be hosting a superbowl party the day you get home!

Wow! You are planning on hosting a party the day you get back!? :scared1: Yeah… I couldn't do that! And I LOVE to host some parties!

I wish I could have a conference to go to at Disney! My husband has a conference in Orlando this summer that he could possibly go to. But I'm thinking my girls are too small to try and do the trip without him along for the whole thing.

When my girls were 17 months old DH had a conference in Orlando, not WDW. It was near Sea World. We went 5 days early to do WDW. Then I had to entertain the girls during the day while DH had the meetings. We also did sea world one of those days.

I'll let you know how the party goes. I'm hoping to have a lot of the stuff ready. I won't go as crazy as I normally do so no homemade bread bowl this year. :rotfl: I bought spinach dip instead of making it myself.

WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY TOMORROW!
that is what my DD woke up saying this morning. We just finished mostly packing. Waiting for DH to get home from a business trip so we can finish. It was a little sad packing the girls stuff. They are "too old" for Disney clothing. :(

Just buy a piece of bread, dump that dip in there and top with cheese and warm. It was homemade…. made all together at home! :rotfl:

HAVE SO MUCH FUN!!!! :dance3:

I survived a short disney trip, a confrence and a party. Along with a stomach bug that is still making its way through my house.
Here is my DD's journal that she did for school.

We did go to Beaches and cream for ice cream the first night.

FIL and his wife put our names on their list while we where on ME coming from the airport.
We did Ohana for breakfast the next morning
DSCN1693.jpg

then off to Magic Kingdom. DH and I got to ride space mountain. We all go to see the tiki room. Sydney went back to the pool with FIL while DH and I took Dani on splash mountain.
We went to Epcot for Dinner then I left to go to my conference. I found out they did stop for ice cream cones on the way back to the room.
Friday morning we went to Cape May for breakfast

I went to my conference and they went to HS.

Dani got her face paint and a hair wrap

DH and the girls took a book on the water
DSCN1787.jpg

I met them and we went to Via Napali for dinner. After we ate, the girls wanted to go test track and Soaring. On the way we stopped at a stand and Sydney found a zebra headband.
DSC01447.JPG

We did the Norway ride, then the Mexico ride before test track. We then did Soaring, then the land boat ride (what ever its right name is). Sydney wanted to go on Figment before we called it a night. As we walked into figment, I felt very nauseous.
We left Epcot at 11:45 walked back to the room, at which point I was up most of the night throwing up.
DH, FIL and the girls went to AK
DSCN1800.jpg

Dani loved Mount Everest. I think both girls loved primeval whirl. They got soaked in the boneyard and got new animal kingdom shirts.
Then they went to MK and the girls went on Space Mountain.
