Ok I dont know if this is the right area for this question but here goes:

My Boyfriend and I leave in 5 days for our 2 week WDW trip....

We will be in the parks for 12 days.

As I start to pack I realize that we may end up having like 4 suitcases between the two of us....this seems a bit crazy to me..(smaller sized rolly suitcases...)

So my question is HOW MUCH DO YOU PACK per person....

I go solo and always take 2, even if on the way down I only need to use 1, in that case I just put a smaller suitcase inside a bigger one and pack that way, or a duffel bag, in case I buy things, I don't like to risk only having one and it being overweight. The longest I went was 8 nights, 9 days I had one full suitcase and one partially full, some people will say pack less and do laundry, but I only do that if I have no choice.

I take 1 suitcase, but mine is pretty big and we only go for about 5 days.
But I re-wear my jeans(I bring about 2 or 3) and just change my undergarments and shirt. :)

Have fun at Disney!:wizard:

I think db and i will end up with one large one and one smaller one... then two medium bags for our carry ons

One medium-size suitcase and one carry-on. I'm a compulsive over-packer and am trying to mend my ways! We usually go for 7 or 8 days, but I plan to do laundry mid-trip. I usually take a break from the parks in the afternoon, anyways (we go during a hot time of year), so I just do laundry one afternoon mid-trip. Cuts way down on what you have to pack.

Because we go during a hot, sweaty time of year, it's nice to know you can do laundry (it's so refreshing to take a quick shower and change into a clean t-shirt in the afternoon). I often wear my shorts more than one day, but change my t-shirt mid-day.

We went at the beginning of June....4 of us....myself, DH, DS (9) and DD (5). We stayed for a week and took 3 suitcases....1 large, 1 medium, and 1 small. DH & I shared the large one, DS & DD shared the medium one, and we put breakfast & snack items in the small one (which was then used to help carry home the souveniers at the end of the trip). Packed 1 outfit per person per day, plus a jacket each & sweatshirt each. DH calls me "the master packer" for being able to fit the same amount of items as other people pack, but into a much smaller space. We fit everything and there was no extra/wasted space. But then we went at a time when the weather was pretty constant, so we didn't have to worry about "what if" clothes for not knowing what the weather would be like. If you didn't want to have so many suitcases, you could always plan a time to do some laundry so there'd be less to take along.

my family all has the differnt size of LLbean adventure rolling duffle, me i have the XL size because i overpack like its my job and the rest of my family has all varying sizes, we each end up taking one pieceof luggage and a smaller duffle thats empty for everything we buy.

We bring two big suitcases each, one rolling carry on and a backpack. We don't fill those on the way down but we are shoppers and we need the space on the way home.

Of course this year my DH is meeting me with the car so I don't have to worry about space!

My wife and I bring 3 suitcases, plus a duffel bag. One of the suitcases is almost empty, because we always plan on bringing back souvenirs. :)

I just learned the lesson of not bringing enough suitcases. I brought one big suitcase one large suitcase and one small suitcase for 4 of us, one of us is a baby and needs so much extra stuff. We should have brought 2 suitcases per adult at least and maybe one each for the kids. The large on ended up being overweight on the way there and we had to switch things around at 5am, not fun. Then on the way home, we thought we did better, but the case ended up being 15 pounds over weight and they were going to charge us $50.00 extra. Luckily we had a nice curbside agent and said he would put a heavy tag on the bag and let it through if we would take care of the tip in cash. Soooo, that is what we did. It cost us $20 in cash, instead of $50 and a tip. Lesson learned: Bring 2 suitcases that are half full so you have room for purchases and so that you won't go overweight on them. Plus we shipped some purchases home that we knew would be heavy.

My wife and I coming from the UK for 2 weeks get luggage allowance of 2 x23kg suitcases and 1x handluggage each.

We bring 3 suitcases (approx 27kg of clothes accross all three) and 2x hand luggage (tablet PC, Camera gear etc).

While in Florida we buy a 4th case and then fill it up with all the bargains we can find :thumbsup2

On our way home we are always just a couple of kg total under our allowances :cool1:

DBF and I each have our own large rolling duffel and a backpack/shoulder bag. For a week trip we usually have plenty of room for our clothes, toiletries, and snacks, and then extra space for souvenirs. When we eat our snacks we get even more room for souvies in each duffel.

I took my daughter to the airport this morning at 5:30 for her and her friend's trip. They each had 2 large suitcases and a small carryone suitcase. They are staying for 9 days. The took an assortment of jeans/long sleeves and shorts/short sleeves and appropriate footwear, jackets, etc.

When DH and I went in September, we brought one medium sized suitcase each and I had a carry on tote back which I used to carry my Overland Donner, snacks, swimsuits, and some travel size toilitries in. This was for one week.

The three of us each took one larger suitcase apiece (and I am a good/solid packer) plus we had two larger duffels to collectively hold t-shirts, undies, bras, sock, bathing suits, ect... We also had a bag of spare shoes and a Begellini full of toiletries/H&BA. We stayed for 12 days and never did laundry once and wore everything only once! We did overpack... we came home with one suitcase full of unused clothes!

For a vacation from 5 days to 2 weeks, I normally take 1 large suitcase for my trip out with a folded duffle bag in the suitcase. On the trip back, my suitcase is usually just at the 50 lb limit plus the duffle bag is also checked as luggage. For carry-ons, I am always at the limit between my camera equipment, reading material, other electronics, etc.

For a 1 week trip, I normally pack enough clothes for the entire trip. For a longer trip, I usually pack enough clothes for 5-6 days and then do laundry. Now that I have joined DVC, I expect that I will pack clothes for about 4-5 days and then do laundry.

We each had one checked bag, and one carry on. I packed a suitcase in a suitcase and packed an extra duffle bag for our purchases. We only ended up using the one extra suitcase, but not the duffle bag. I tend to buy lots of stuff when on vacation, so I always like to be prepared.

We bring one suitcase a piece and we share a single carryon (I do laundry about every 4th day).

If you do NOT have a washer/dryer in your unit AND you have ADR's that require non park appropriate attire/footwear than I can support the arguement for more than 2 fullsizes suitcases.

We too leave in 5 days and have been setting a few things aside over the last week or so. Seems like we will be gone for a month based on what's been laid out but we will begin the weeding process in a day or 2 as the weather picture gets a little clearer.

You do you want to take into account those 'extras' that you will be acquiring during your stay unless you plan on having things shipped back. We have occasionally packed a flat duffel in a suitcase for just such a scenario.

I am leaving in two days for a week with a 1 year old who needs way too much stuff. We are taking three larger rolling suitcases and a stroller and 2 carry-ons.... If I can get away with one carry-on, I will! :) Trying to pack as much away as possible.
