We are leaving in 2 weeks for our first family trip to WDW. We will be flying with our 2 DD's ages 4 and 2. I am beginning to pack and I think Ill need one more suitcase. I have 2 large suitcases w/ rollers to check and they are already pretty full. Plus Ill have the double stroller and 2 small carry ons. I figured my DH would roll the large suitcases and Id tackle the stroller and smaller carry ons. So how many bags to you guys bring on the plane and check??? I have one more medium sized duffle that goes with one of the large suitcases and it straps to the handle. Is that too much for DH to carry??? We are going for 9 days so I need to bring a lot....HELP!!!!!!!

You have 2 carry ons... I am not sure that is enough. Does that include the diaper bag(s), camera bag, goody/entertainment bag? It would not hurt to have the extra duffel bag. Even it is not full you will have some extra room on the way home for souveniers and stuff.

On our last trip with DS 6 and DD 2 we curb checked 3 pieces of luggage and the stroller. No need to carry that through the airport. For carry ons we had backpack for DS to put coloring books and gameboy, DD's diaper bag, and a camera bag. To get all this through the airport we got one of those little luggage carriers that fold down to fit in the overhead compartments. We were able to attach all the carry ons and car seat to walk through the airport.

I have a 1 yo dd, 4 yo ds and 6 yo dd. I plan on having at least two good sized suitcases (possibly a third). I will use my stroller in the airport and check it plane-side. For carryons, I will have my camera, a diaper bag and each of my older kids will carry a backpack. I know the luggage will be cumbersome but we won't have to wheel it around too much. I will probably need the third suitcase for diapers and such. Oh - and we will be checking dh's golf clubs. Oh my! It is going to be a lot of stuff!!!

I am trying to decide if I want to check my carseat for my youngest. Or just rent one when we get there!

We went for 9 days this summer and I took a large suitcase for myself, a medium for my DDs 4/5 and then a small for "stuff" and then had packed a duffel for souviners. We had one carry on and each girl had a back pack and I had a backpack with camera, wallet etc. I had two strollers. My mom had two bags as well.

All I can say is thank goodness for Magical Express! The other years we went we paid a porter to take our bags.

Okay, so Ill probably need one more bag to check. I just didnt want to seem like a freak with all these bags for a family of 4. But I guess its normal though. So that helps and now I will have plenty of room to pack everything!!! Thanks for the help!!!

Just wanted to remind you to check the weight restrictions. I'm flying Delta Song, and recently flew Independenc Air, and both of their restrictions were 50 lbs. per suitcase. This was unfortunate, as I would have only needed to bring my one large suitcase if not for the weight limit. Instead, I had to bring two suitcases that were only about half full. When my brother flew, they made him rearrange his suitcases right then and there because one was over the weight limit.

For myself, DH and our 4 DD's I am planning on checking 2 suitcases and I will be bringing 2 carry-ons and a stroller.
I am determined to fit everything in those pieces of luggage :cool1:

We are leaving the end of this month..... :cool1: ....and I plan on bringing one bag for each of us and I am going to pack a change of clothes for each of us to bring in a carry on bag (just in case).....

Traveling with DW the easiest answer to this is too many. She has never quite mastered the art of packing light. This made for an interesting sight outside our cabin when leaving suitcases outside the cabin door the night before departing the ship.

3 carry-ons and two bags we check.

We are three people, but DH brings his "office" with him and lots of DVDs, mini hockey sticks, hockey net and other fun things to play with while in the room.

OH NO..... Now i feel like Im planning to much. I was thinking 1 med. bag for each of us (4) and 1 carry on for each of us. Plus 2 backpacks for the kids. We will be there for 7 nights, is that to much??? :confused3 :confused3

Here's what we had for a family of 4 (dd's 7 and 9):

Checked (3)
1 large rolling suitcase
2 carry-on sized rolling suitcases that expand ;)

Carry-ons (4 plus 3 "personal" bags)
1 carry-on sized rolling suitcase with cameras/electronics/gagets
1 smaller rolling carry-on
2 canvas bags
1 computer bag (yes, dh takes his laptop on vacation)
2 small kid's backpacks (kids carried these - for their activities)

We had clothes for 5 days since we did laundry a couple times during our 2-week stay. Our large suitcase was 46 lbs. on our trip there. I was trying not to overload it on the return trip. It ended up being exactly 50 lbs. on the return trip when they weighed it at the airport.

Let's see in the past I've brought for an August trip (8 days) ...

1 medium suitcase for me
1 carry-on tote
1 *purse*
1 small rolling carry-on suitcase for each grandkid
2 backpacks (GK's personal *stuff)

Next trip we're doing a land/sea vacation and I expect to take an extra bag to accomodate cooler weather clothing and cruise clothes.

We briing one med/large rolling suitcase and 2 carryon's, one with some stuff for DD, and the other for all the rest of our stuff...cameras..tix, ect.
We are a family of three..dd is 3.

We will be bringing 2 LARGE suitcases and packing an extra duffel bag. I am bound and determined to NOT over pack this year. I am planning all my outfits out in my head..... :rotfl: The nice thing is that we will be staying at OKW, so I can always do laundry when I need to.

We will be there from Saturday - Saturday and I plan on bringing 1 outfit for every day for myself and DH plus 2 extra outfits, a pair of jeans each, and 2 swimsuits each. I am going to bring 2 outfits per day for DS, plus 4 extra outfits, diapers, and 2 swimsuits.

I am also going to bring a carry on with a change of clothes for each of us, plus swimsuits - you never know what could happen to our luggage from JFK to MCO, so I want to make sure that I at least have ONE pair of clean underwear.....

A second carry on will be full of stuff to keep DS (and DH ;) ) occupued - portable DVD player, snacks, diapers, etc......

According to DH - way too many. Now remember that when we went in July we went for 18 days (me, DH, 2 dds (6 and 7) and ds (5)). We had 3 super large suitcases, 3 medium suitcases, 3 carry ons and I shipped all the costumes and tinkerbelle gifts, misty fans, light spinners, etc. ahead of time.
