How many spouses = too much

For me one is enough.

Not counting the spouse passing away, since you pick your spouse after two divorces I would think that is enough. You ability to pick or keep a spouse is not too good.

Sometimes living single will help you to understand yourself better and help you choose better.

I wouldn't move onto #3 without some serious counseling. I keep choosing very abusive people. I don't want to do that to myself or my children.

I think it's great that you recognize there is a problem and want to address it. I hope that one day you find the one that you deserve! And I am so sorry for the pain you have been through.

This is an interesting thread. How do those who have been divorced many times affect the reported divorce rate. For example, I often hear, over 50% of marriages end in divorce, but I'd be curious, what is the statistic for first marriages that end in divorce. If I were married four times and divorced three, my personal record would be three out of four marriages ended in divorce. Anyone know?

I heard that when both are entering their first marriage the divorce rate is only 25%. The 50% includes the repeat divorcers and skew the number way up.

I'm going through my first (and I'm determined to make it my ONLY) divorce.

I say "only" because I don't intend to get married again. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. I can spend the rest of my life with someone, but I don't know that I want to get married again.
