How many split their stays between resorts?

I see you have older kids too. Have you ever stayed at BWV with your kiddos? Do they like the pools at SSR okay?

Sorry, we are not really interested in pools. DDs will occassionally go for just a very short time so really any pool is fine for them. A friend just got back from SSR and they really enjoyed the pool and so did their kids, but their kids are all under 11 so they have a different perspective.

We split mostly on the weekends staying at other Disney resorts useing our AP discounts. Like checking out the non DVC resorts.

My boys aren't as old as yours but pretty close (9 and 13). They loved BWV! They liked the pool at SSR. What they loved the most was the members lounge (I think that is what it was called). There was games, tv, ping pong, video games, etc. We weren't too far from it and they really liked being able to walk over there by themselves (13 yo has a cell phone). I don't know what they really liked. It may have been just the independence:goodvibes

We never split our trips. We like to settle in and stay. We just try to stay at a different resort each trip so we can eventually experience them all.:flower3:

We have done that on longer trips to enjoy two resorts in one trip. If you don't have a car Disney will move your luggage from one resort to the other for you.

I do not like to switch, but this is the second June stay that we'll be doing it. 1-2 nights at BCV, to enjoy SAB, then the rest at another resort. Last year it was an OKW 1 bedroom, this year it's a BWV sv studio because we were in a very deep point deficit. (WERE, because we have added on some AKV points, but can't use them yet!)

Bobbi:)

We haven't done a split stay yet because it just seems like a real pain to me-mostly the grocery part of it. When we go "home" we order groceries and I treat the family to their favorites, including ice cream and other frozen snacks. I always have fruit cut up and other things that just wouldn't travel well. How do your groceries get over-do you transport them yourself and just hope your room is ready? We'll probably do a split stay soon but I'll have to curb my grocery order unless I get some other great ideas from this thread.:thumbsup2

My kids are 8 and 11 and they love the SSR pools. Maybe its because they have always found some other kids their age to play with and run the the arcade with. They will actually get out their own wallets to buy a loaded card at the Win, Lose or Draw since Mom refuses to do that with Disney Quest right across the water, so the arcade right by the pool is a big plus in their eyes. They seem to love the quiet pools as much as the main pool because in addition to playing they also like to really swim with fewer bodies to avoid. I was quite surprised that they didn't really rave about the BWV pool-the scary clown pool, to them. They aren't scared of clowns but they don't really care for them at the same time and they felt the slide was a much slower ride than SSR's which they love. We walked to the quiet pool for a real swim and they turned right around to head back to the Keister pool because it was filled with adults kind of just wading and seemed much smaller.
(please don't get me wrong-wading is great-they just wanted to stretch out and swim.)

We will be splitting our stay between BCV, BWV and SSR this June. It will just be DH and I on this trip - our 25th Anniversary - so we decided to check out some of the other DVC resorts. We have stayed 4 times at our home resort, SSR, and absolutely love it there. Look forward to taking advantage of our membership and staying elsewhere too. :thumbsup2

Since it is just the two of us I'm thinking it won't be as bad to switch resorts. We'll see ... :confused3 Hey, we'll just have a Disney attitude and all will be well! pixiedust:

We're planning to do 3 resorts in 3 weeks when we go back home for the 1st time in November/

OUt ideal choice would be BCV/SSR/VWL but as it's F&W, we might not get the BCV and will hopefully just split our stay between SSR and VWL.

If we can't change, we'll be happy to be at SSR for our whole trip! :)

Your trip sounds like what we have planned now. We are currently at BW for the first 4 nights and then SSR the last 5 nights. This is also our first trip home. We plan on going back in late Jan. Not sure where we want to end up. I will book SSR first.

Cool! I hope you are enjoying your trip. Let me know how everything went. Like checking in and out of resorts on switching day.
