How many split their stays between resorts?

Just curious as to how many do this on purpose or because they have to because that is what is available? We are going to BWV for our very first DVC stay in Aug. then switching to SSR. Part of me wants to just stay at SSR because that is our home resort and we are going HOME for our first trip. :confused3

We did it because we wanted to. SSR is 'home', but we planned to go to F&W a couple of nights and knew it would be really nice to just walk back to BCV. We've always gotten exactly what we requested, although we had to waitlist for those 2 nights at BCV.
Personally, I'd rather unpack and stay put while I'm there.

I do it because I like the variety and enjoy being "near" the parks we plan to visit. For instance, BCV for Epcot and MGM, VWL for MK.
Doesn't seem that big a deal to move because we always rent a car and just put our luggage in it.

We are doing the exact same thing is June - splitting between BWV and SSR.
SSR is our home and we wanted to stay there part of the time - especially at the end of our trip since it seems so peaceful there and we will be exhausted.
Also, we want to try out as many resorts as possible to see what they all have to offer.

We have only changed rooms once before - the week we got married at WDW. For my family of five, we had a total of FIVE different rooms!! :crazy2: Never again! So changing only once sounds just fine to us!!

Moving from resort to resort at WDW is a BIG deal for DH. It doesn't bother me a bit. For many trips, we do a couple nights at VB first and then move to our WDW home for the rest of the trip. So I don't know if that counts...

We love to move around. LOL No big deal for us. Last summer we went to OKW for a week, moved to WL for the weekend, and then on to BCV. Disney moves your bags, they move you, if I need my bags that badly, I will go to the luggage room and get them myself. We still haven't stopped that - in the parks all day mentality. LOL So it doesn't matter to me when my bags get to my room.

I think we`ll try moving resorts this Nov / Dec. We`re staying 19 nights so I think we`ll try and get BWV, then OKW then move to our home resort of SSR.
I would really like to stay at OKW as it looks so beautiful, BWV to be close to the action and SSR as we`ve never stayed there before.
However if we spend all our time at SSR that`ll be great anyway - so its a win win situation.

We like changing resorts. We spend a lot of time enjoying the resorts so after 4 days or so we've soaked it all up and are ready for the change.

I guess we're kind of the opposite of most in this thread. We prefer to get settled in and stay in one place. We like to get completely unpacked and have a place for everything and everything in it's place. We can easily spend over an hour just unpacking, unloading groceries, moving furniture to our liking, etc.

We're home :goodvibes

We like moving as well. This summer it's 5 nights BCV (EPCOT/MGM) and then 2 at VWL and we will concentrate on MK while at VWL.

We don't mind it at all. This past August we started at the YC, moved to the BCV and then on to SSR. It was like 3 different vacations. BTW we had our 2 teenagers with us and they didn't seem to mind either.

The only time we DON'T split-stay is during F & W. Then it's just BW for a week. The other trips are for longer stays, so switching resorts midway gives us the illusion of having two separate vacations.:thumbsup2

love to change.

had OKW for the entire time -now OKW, BWV and VWL - for a 4 night stay.:happytv:

I haven't done this in a long, long time.....:rotfl:

We are splitting our stay in Aug. This will be our first time splitting in WDW. We did a split stay in DL. This summer we will be doing 1 wk at OKW the weekend at the Dolphin and then 1 wk at the VWL. It will be our first stay at all three resorts. I just want to try them all.

Splitting up at OKW and SSR for 5 nights each in June. Part of it was I wanted to check out OKW. The other part was that we are overlapping seasons and splitting time between the two gave us the most nights for our points.

I see you have older kids too. Have you ever stayed at BWV with your kiddos? Do they like the pools at SSR okay?

DH and I like to completely unpack and stay in one place for the entire stay. We have done a couple of split stays and felt like it was too much hassle and too much wasted time packing up, checking in at the new resort and unpacking again. We didn't like not having a home between 11am check out at the first resort and late afternoon when we were able to get into our room at the new resort. Plus, now that we're DVC members we usually have lots of groceries in the cupboards and the refrigerator in addition to all our other stuff.

So instead of split stays, we alternate resorts: one trip we'll stay at BWV and spend lots of time at EP, the next trip we'll stay at VWL and spend more of our time at the MK. We also like to stay at OKW when we want a more relaxing vacation and soon we'll add AKV into the rotation!

I love to split stays....
I want to try every one so....It wont take so long:lmao:

Going 5-22 for a week in a studio at SSR...only thing available....
I am waitlisted for the first 3 nights anywhere else
except..WL...going there in oct:)

I am excited to stay at SSR now....especially memorial day
weekend....probably wont do parks....looks like a good
place to hang....and near DTD...also buses to other
resorts close:thumbsup2

We are doing this for our first trip home in July. Since we are staying for 10 days we figured why not. And getting BWV Boardwalk view to start off our vacation just topped it off. Then we'll move to SSR (our home) for 6 days.

We love trying new resorts. It makes your vacation more fun. It'll feel like we've been on 2 different vacations and I can't wait!!pixiedust:

Your trip sounds like what we have planned now. We are currently at BW for the first 4 nights and then SSR the last 5 nights. This is also our first trip home. We plan on going back in late Jan. Not sure where we want to end up. I will book SSR first.
