I've been PMing lyrics back and forth with my bud, Gina over the past few days and it occurs to me that I know A LOT of songs!

I might not know every lyric of every song, but certainly enough that I can sing (or hum) quite a bit of it!

We've been doing popular songs from the 60's and 70's.....throw in all the others, including camp-fire songs, traditional songs and nursery songs and I know A LOT of songs!

How many songs do you think you know??

Interesting question, OK .... I voted for thousands ......I'm sure I know at least parts of that many songs ..... it always amazes me how even when you haven't heard a song for years and it comes on the radio I'm able to sing along ....... I guess the fact that years ago it was a "must" for me to memorize the top ten from American Top 40 has something to do with that :D

Can't imagine my life without music !!

A lot, but to come up with lyrics out of the blue, I would have a problem with. :)

Im allways shocked when I see lyrics written, I am allways singing the wrong words

I write that words that make the whole world sing....;)

Complete lyrics-probably about 30 songs. Lyrics that I think are there that aren't, probably about 1000 or so.:teeth:

It depends on the song. I guess thousands!

80's.. maybe hundreds.. especially if there are obscure British bands..

70's album rock.. maybe hundreds as well.

Kids songs, camp songs, church songs.. those are in the hundreds as well. There are over 200 songs in our church songbook alone, and I know most of them!

Kids songs.. you have kids you know songs.

TV Theme songs.. know lots of those as well.

I've been around a long, long time. :0 :p I would do pretty good with 50's, 60's and 70's popular lyrics but not so well with 80's. I'm pretty good with lyrics, but I don't get every word right either. I didn't know what to vote? "Hundreds" seemed low, "thousands" seemed high. But I chose thousands. :p I love music trivia games. Not osbcure lyrics games though, just popular. :p

I would say. I know songs from the 30's on UP! (I was born in '58). Oldkicker: Do you know: "Don't sit under the Apple tree....." Would love ALL the lyrics to that one.;)

I picked thousands. I love to sing along to songs while I am by myself!

Like Saffron, I've been around for a LOT of songs but I still just marked hundreds.......gosh maybe I'll have to start a list. We have a Snow Day today so I have plenty of time on my hands!!!:jester: :bounce:

I chose thousands. It always amazes me that I can remember words to songs I haven't heard in ages. We have an 80s rock station, and I can sing along to songs I haven't heard since they were popular. Also, since Jacob was born, I've been listening to kids' music, and I can sing songs I haven't heard since kindergarten.

Well, judging by how long we've been doing this....and how easy it's been....I suspect thousands and thousands. I never knew I listened to so much music.

BTW....what did you vote, Bernie???

Now imagine if we had put that brainpower towards something really useful???? :p

And knowing thousands of songs isn't useful? So far for the riddle, I will agree!!!! But we use our brainpower for that (or our resourseful begging for hints power?).

I know lots of songs, from opera and broadway, and musical movies and shows, and radio play songs, and HS band songs, 4 years of me, 4 years of DS, and then all the other songs that get played in movie scores, and parades. It is amazing what the brain can hold.

Uh...is this going to be a riddle tomorrow???????

More than Hundreds of Thousands, of course. :teeth:

Couldn't you tell when we did karoke, Gina? Not once did I look up at the little screen for the words of Oh Darling.

(maybe because it was I was staring at the ground, too humilated to show my face! :p )
