How many sippy cups? and other ?s for those with toddlers

Does anyone use those First Years Take-n-Toss spoons? Also can anyone find the Bibsters with pockets in boxes? We only saw a trial package of 4 pocket Bibsters. Do we need bibs or do restaurants offer them?
Sorry to hijack the thread. :rotfl2:

I found a pack of 20 disposable bibs with the pockets at Walmart, I also bought the disposable silverware for the first time and will be trying it out. I know when we took our DD last year the resturant we went to did not have bibs available.

I am getting ready to go on our 5th trip to WDW with our now almost 3 year old.
In the parks I usually take 5 diapers and the small wipes plastic box that I carry in my purse, hand sanitizer, and always a few spoons and forks from a quick service place. The silver in the restuarants is too big for her to use. So I just keep a few special "mickey" spoons and forks handy. Also on our last trip we found some super cute Mickey plates at Saratoga Springs. When you order a kids meal they give it out in them. I asked a for a few extra and gosh are they great. They wash up perfect. This year I will take extra clothes since she will most likely play quite a bit in the play areas. You never know what may get on them there.

When ours were in that stage we took a sippy cup each and 1 bowl of cheerios for them to share and about 4 diapers each we went from open to close to the parks and didn't go back to the room. We used the baby minding centres for feedings and some down time they usually just fell alseep in the stroller so it wasn't a big deal.

We are all about convenience - everywhere we go, we use the disposable bibs, Take n Toss spoons and sippy cups, and the disposable placemats (can't remember the brand, but we usually get them at Target and they come in Dora the Explorer and Spongebob designs). We usually re-use the cups and spoons, but if we lose one, it's no big deal.

We haven't taken DS (14mo) to WDW yet, but for day trips to other places, we pack one extra outfit, 3-4 diapers, a small pack of wipes, a small packet of hand wipes (for cleaning hands and face after meals), and a teeny bottle of hand sanitizer.

We were there for Thanksgiving and I took with us like 5 sippie cups full of milk and juice for my son who was 18months at the time..THey sat in a thermo lunch bag with a frozen ice pack thingy..We took a bunch of diapers and a xtra outfit plus a few snacks..

Does Disney check bags? Do they have a problem with bringing milk for a toddler? That would save us a ton of $$ if we brought sippies of milk in a thermal bag. DS and DD drink LOADS of milk every day, and the thought of spending $4 on milk every few hours would just kill me.

Thanks

We used those take and toss spoons in WDW when my daughter was 9 months old. They were very handy for feeding her jarred baby food and then throwing them out (though I still felt a need to reuse them so I ended up saving most of them  ). At 13/14 months, however, Madison was way more interested in self-feeding so the spoons sat in the luggage the entire trip. By that age she wanted nothing to do with being fed by mommy or daddy, and couldn't use utensils well yet so she just used her hands.

I got a package of Take-n-Toss utensils (spoons and forks) about two years ago and I'm still using them for DD2! They're sturdy and perfect for that age when they're still to little for real spoons or when you can't yet trust them with a real fork.

Toys R Us has large and small boxes of bibsters and Target carries boxes of disposable bibs by Munchkin for a slightly lower price. The Target ones use a tape-based closure that doesn't re-use as easily as the Bibsters - kind of a problem now that DD2 has figured out she can rip them off if she pulls hard enough - she thinks its a fun game ;)

I've also used the disposable placemats but I think they're at least as pricey as the bibsters and DD2 occasionally finds peeling the placemat off the table more interesting than eating her food...

One other item I like to bring is a travel pack of tissue.

13 days and counting to our first trip "Home" to BWV...

We bring a few bibs (cheapie ones) since that seems to be an issue with us, 1 spare outfit similar to the day plus things to wear if it gets colder (sweatshirt/pants, etc). My daughter wears shoes that can wet so only the one pair. I bring straws and she drinks from my cup at the park. My daughter only drinks warm milk with strawberry syrup so I bring the sippies for when we have it at the condo. I bring at least 2 hats since she is fair skinned and often purposely gets one hat wet thinking I won't make her wear it!

As for diapers I bring 6 a day or so and then some are left in the car as well as a new emergency diaper bag with other items also. I load up on the snacks, dried fruit in baggies, raisins, goldfish, etc. Goldfish are sold in those little separate baggies which come in handy for us. As for wipes I use a little container whcih carries only 12 I think and refill at the end of the day.

We bought a two pack of the Gerber sippy cups (with straws) and a plastic fork & spoon set that were lifesavers the entire trip. We still use those cups, and I usually thing of WDW each time I fill them, so they function as souveniers, also! This year, I found Disney designed sippy cups at Toys R Us on sale, so I bought those to take. DD2 can actually drink from a regular cup, or a cup with a straw, but she tends to be a bit messy and rushed. I guess we'll see when we get there to see which she prefers. I pack a diaper bag for the parks with 4 diapers (we usually go back to the resort in the afternoon), a small travel wipes container, a few ziplocs of snacks/snackbars/Brita water bottle, lysol or other sanitized wipes, aspirin (for the adults), ziploc with one change of clothes, travel fan, light up stuff, walkie talkies, stroller cover, food vouchers/passes/id, little toys for the lines. and wear a Misty Mate around my neck. Wow, that's a lot of stuff! We usually use it all, though. We carry the bag on the rides, and refill as necessary. If you'd rather not have to carry a shoulder bag, you could also get a backpack. I sometimes take a softsided cooler for the drinks/snacks, and leave it in the basket of the stroller. This saves us from carrying that stuff around.

Its so funny to see how many of us bring the Take and Toss, I love them, and plan on using them too I plan on taking a pack for when I go in Dec with my girls I too also like taking on of the insulated playtex sippy cuos cause my DD's are picky and wont drik if it to warm, UGh these kids,LOl They just brought out the disney princess ones had to buy a pack expensive though worht it girlies love them, Just one each thouh, for my older DD4 and a 9 oz one for my DD18 months...I also like taking a back pack for and extra pair of t shirts and shorts incase of accidents, I like to pack their stuff individually in big gallon size ziploc bags like that I am not fumbling around for stuff and incase it rains. I also if I am brining a yogurt or milk in a small, and I mean small i dont remember were I got it, soft sided pouch with cold thingy. About 5 diapers and a travel size container of wipes pretty much filled till I cant fill it anymore, we go through tons of them. Lots of friut snacks and cereal bars and bottle water for mom and dad....If you put the kids stuff in the gallon size ziploc bags and suck all the air out of them it also clears up alot of space in the bag but try not to pack to much cause you dont want it to be to heavy!!!

Oh and I use to bring fruits like apple or bananas but no one in my family eats them anymore and they get yucky!

If you need straws for cups - the Animal Kingdom park or the Animal Kingdom Lodge does not have any straws due to animal safety - just a small heads up

:)

We take 1 sippie for each kid, but make them leave it in the hotel room. They also can bring 1 "snuggle" toy. They are OK with these rules. There is so much at WDW that they forget all about their sippies and snuggles and are drinking out of straws and holding us!!!

Last year I took about 5 cups and 2 bottles just in case. I took the take n toss cups but they won't work this year, DS2 knows how to bite the lids off. We lose them a lot so this year i will take 2 or 3. I wish I would have taken clothes to the park last year. On two different days he had an explosion and ruined his Christmas outfit, and the stroller. We took about 5 diapers and a full travel package of wipes, pacis and a few snacks. We will do the same this year but I will take a change of clothes with us. We will not be going back to the room in the afternoon because the hours are shorter in December.

Well! We haven't left for our WDW trip yet, but I'm often out with my 12 month old DD for the day, and here is what I bring:

3-4 diapers, a travel pack of wipes, changing pad, 3-4 used but clean ziplocks to store dirty diapers in until I can find a trash bin

Hand sanitizer, a washcloth, and a spare onesie type outfit (something really squishy and small)

1 sippy cup with travel lid, tupperware of cheerios/crackers, a baby spoon/chopsticks kit, Bibster, disposible placemat, and a bottle of water for Mommy!

Oh and a baby sling

WOW That sounds like so much when I write it out! But it all fits in a small diaper bag. I'm the type who, in my pre-baby days, only carried my Resort key, drivers license, credit card and a few dollars into the parks with me for the day. If it didn't fit in my jeans pockets it didn't come along. The idea of having to carry  a backpack (or even worse a purse-type diaper bag) is just frightening to me.

So, how can I fit all that into a fanny pack under my preggy belly?? :rotfl:

Yes all the parks have bags checked. We got back from there in August and I have 4 kids. My youngest was 15 months at the time and I brought a sippy for her and her snacks. The parks don"t care if you bring food, just don't be blatent about it and bring a huge hard side cooler. I have never had anybody tell me I couldn't bring anything into the park concerning food! We have been many times since we live in South Florida and have kids :cool1: !
