Traveling with 3 adults (wife and I, plus Grandma), 1 three-year old and an infant, staying at a Deluxe (probably the Polynesian). Do most people get 1 room or 2 in this situation? The room is stated to sleep 5 and comes with a daybed, but wondering what most people would do?

one room, we stayed three adults and a two and three at pofq and had plenty of room. so tired at night we all just slept.

It depends on you basically. We are a party of four and we are getting two rooms. My mom and son are staying in one room and DH and myself in another. We were going to do one room at a Deluxe then changed our minds since decided more privacy from my mother would make the trip more comfortable.

This is a first time we will be bringing my mom on vacation so it will be a test to see how it goes. Maybe next time we will all share a room but not this trip.

Also it was cheaper for us to get two rooms at POR then one room at the Poly.

As long as you are comfortable sharing the room with Grandma, you will be fine. I would say 1 room.

I would ask Grandma what she would prefer. Your little ones are little, so the 5 of you in the room should be fine.

Welcome to the DIS, mrjaws!

You should be fine in a room at the Poly. Mom and dad can have one queen sized bed, grandma can have the other queen sized bed, the older child can have the daybed, and the little one in a portacrib. Should be fine.
