How many rolls of film per day?

I just dropped off 13 rolls of film and four disposable cameras from our 8 day trip to WDW last week. I take lots of pictures and always take two shots of important pictures because my DH always closes his eyes (two trips in a row in front of the castle ) and my 2 and 3 year olds don't pose well.

I gave DH the disposable cameras so that I would appear in some pictures. Otherwise my kids would grow up and think I wasn't on the trip!

For our third trip, I took 20 rolls of 27 exposure film. (7 day trip)

For our first trip, I had about 30 rolls in 4 days.

So I guess it depends on how many trips you've previously taken to WDW.

our first trip to disney we averaged about 5 rolls a day (36exp). The developing was almost expensive as the trip. The second trip, we made sure to purchase a digital camera. We used up over 128mb on that trip. Now we have 2 digi cameras and one has 128mb and other has 256mb, plus some smaller extras, we are prepared this time.

Purchasing a digi camera may be cheaper that buying and developing all that film

This last year I purchased a digital camera and was glad to take it to WDW. One thing I found very helpful is that I purchased 3 Memory Sticks: One for MK, one for EPCOT and one for AK / MGM. It worked like a charm. It sure helped in separating out my pictures!

I think I used 8-10 rolls of film over a 6 day stay, but I also was using my digital camera. I think I had about 500 pictures.

Oh good grief I think I need to buy another memory stick now. This will be my friend and her 3 boys trip to Disnay and 256MB might not be enough.

That will vary by camera and resolution. But, to give you some idea, my camera will hold around 260 pictures on it's "medium" resolution on a 256mb card.

I know I should embrace the digital camera because it is so much smaller than my point and shoot, costs less than buying film all the time and I can see my pictures right away.. So deep breath in.......... I am going to give it a try this weekend on a trip to the zoo with a group of my friends and see how I like it using it all day instead of my point and shoot!!! Question now??? Where is the cheapest and easiest place you have found to develop your pictures????

I always go to Wolf Camera. Oftentimes they can develop pictures for about 25 cents each, especially if you are a part of their "club". I have found this to pay for itself. I also heard that Ofoto.com is good. A friend of mine gets hers developed through them.

I sometimes hesitate to go to bargain stores for developing, but I have had some great pictures come out just fine from them!

On line there are several sites. Ofoto.com, snapfish.com and shutterfly.com. The run specials all the time and some of them will give you free prints when you set up an account. Most major stores like WalMart and Target now do prints from your card and run about $.29 each and you can pick and choose which ones you want to print. And also if you have a membership to a warehouse store like Bj's, Sam's Club or Costco they may do digital prints as well for about $.19 each. I know Costco does.

I've used shutterfly and Ofoto. I stick with Ofoto because they print on Kodak paper versus Fuji like Shutterfly does.

Ofoto is great quality and very prompt service. I have also used them for calendars and photo books.

Digital prints at Target are $0.25 a print. On our last trip my mom took 17 or 18 rolls of film, my sister took 2 disposable cameras, and between my dad and I with our digital cameras I think we took close to 2000 pictures. Thank-goodness for Walgreens. My dad has a 256, 128, a couple 32's, ane a 64 mb compaq flash cards and i have a 512. So lots of pictures. And we were able to take some photos my mom couldnt and vise-versa.

On my last trip (it was my first trip) I took 28 rolls of flim and I was only there for 3 nights/4 days. I took pictures of "Stuff", I wish I took more pictures of the people with me.

But see here is where I don't get it the savings for me.... I usually get triplicates and can get them for around $7.00 at Sam's Club and I would say I use 9 out of 10 of my pictures I take for scrapbooking multiple albums for the same trip (don't aske me why) so using digital prints the same 24 pictures on a roll x 3 would be over $13.00... Does that make sense?? But I really like the idea of seeing my pictures right away.. Oh goodness why can't I make the switch????

I average about 150 prints per day - typical vacation 10 days, 9 nights. You do the math.

I print thru Snapfish - Kodak processing and matte finish!
