We will be in DW first week of May. I am going to the MK on Monday because that is the recommended day on touringplans. How many rides can we ride in fantasyland in one hour if we arrive at rope drop?

If you go to Fantasyland right at rope drop, you should be able to ride most things in an hour. At that time, a lot of folks run to the character meet and greet spots in Fantasyland - we just walk right onto Snow White, Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh - it's fairly empty that early. Dumbo is the one that can slow you down because the ride has to stop for passengers to get on and off, so that line crowds up quicker than most. Not sure if you want to do the movie too - that will take more time, and of course, It's a Small World is the longest ride in Fantasyland, so that takes up time. Pick the rides that fill up the quickest and do those first and then see how much time you have left for the rest of them.

Ditto to all of this. :thumbsup2

Hold off on riding Mickey's PhilharMagic and Small World until you've done the rest.

If you want to ride Dumbo, head there first, then get a FP and/or ride Peter Pan.
The rest is up to you.

You should be able to get to all of them, as long as you do it in the right order. Dumbo first.

This is what we were able to do. All of them were basically walk ons, and took a little over an hour with 11 people between the ages of 2 and 83, with two bathroom breaks:

Dumbo
Pooh
Peter Pan
"it's a small world"
Mickey's Philharmagic

You can probably get Snow White (before small world and Philharmagic) and or one two more done, too. We actually left Fantasyland (because we didn't want to do Tea Cups, and were going to be back on another day anyway).

And I'm pretty sure we still got on Haunted Mansion before 10AM.

okay how does this sound
1. dumbo
2. tea cups
3. many adventures of winnie the pooh
4. golden carousel
5. fast pass for philarmagic
6. peter pan's flight
7. rope drop for characters
8. go back and do it's a small world and phillarmagic

You won't need a fast pass fot philharmagic. They rarely (if ever) even uncover the machines. Get a fast pass for Peter Pan instead. I would get the fast pass right after Dumbo.

Philharmagic will likely not offer FP on most days of the year.

Get to Peter Pan ASAP (or a FP will work) as it's line grows like a weed.

We can usually always get FL done in that first hour. Our ride order is Dumbo, Peter Pan, Snow White, Pooh, carrousel, tea cups, then we do IASW and Philharmagic or save those for later in the day.

ok thanks for the advice now one more question..... if i do all those and head over to toontown when it opens i'm assuming at 10 what do you do first there?

The reason to be at Toontown at "opening" is to meet Tinker Bell and her fairy friends in
Pixie Hollow.

If that's a priority-
you need to be at Toontown by 9:30-ish, as Toontown actually opens, not at 10AM (as announced,) but at 9:45AM.

If you wait much later, your Pixie Hollow waiting line can stretch far too long.

All of this depends a bit on the crowd levels of the park on the day you go.
If we're talking a random not so busy week vs. a prime school vacation week how much you can do will vary a bit.

Last time I was there, Fantasyland was actually quite busy inthe morning. This strategy has become quite popular.

Peter Pan and Dumbo get lines quickly. You can do Snow White, IaSW, Philarmagic - at night with little wait often.

Meanwhile, Frontierland was EMPTY that early.

Meanwhile, Frontierland was EMPTY that early.

That's pretty much been the case for many years (aside from the unpredictable abnormalities of guest behavior.)

Splash and BTM are usually "walk-ons" for about the first hour after park opening time.

Space Mtn. Buzz Lightyear and Dumbo attract the majority of the early-arrivers.

Does the line for the fairies stay long throughout the day or does it go down a bit after that first initial rush from rope drop?

heck-- will it even be opened when we go in Sept?

1- Stays busy.
2- Not much.
3- It'll still be there.

Please try to enjoy the attractions and not just tic them off your list. It's not about how fast you see everything!

Relax. You're on vacation.

So very true.

I was at MK this past Friday, arrived about 7:45 for an 8:30 Keys to the Kingdom tour. After all my past trips, first time I have ever been in a park a rope drop. :scared1: We were about midway down Main Street when the tim ecame to let the hordes in. All I could think of, as I mentioned in another thread the other day, it reminded me of the stampedes in The Lion King or Dinosaur movies....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2m-42ek85G4 :scared1: It was insane. I never saw such distressed looks on the people's faces before. Little kids in strollers, frenzied parents pushing them, looked like they were in for the ride of their lives. It lasted about 4 or 5 minutes. I would estimate maybe 5,000 people passed us there, while our tour group was pretty much hugging the building wall facing the sidewalk. Amazing sight!!
