How many "rented" points can I bank

If I rent points that are said to be “current year points”, can I bank those into next year providing I have not passes my banking period? Example, if I were at the 50% banking period, does that mean I can only bank 50% of the points on my contract or can I include “rented” points I have in my unused total which may exceed 50% of my contract?

IF the points are rented, I doubt you'd be able to bank them as they are still in the other members contract. If they are transferred, it seems DVC will let you have a significant amount of flexibility in banking. Essentially it appears you can bank any points up until 2 months before the use year used for the transferred points. This does not appear to be related to the rest of your points, banking windows or percentages.

If the points are with another member still, you really only rented the reservation and have no control over the points themselves. Refer to your agreement and contact the renter if this is the case.

Dean, Thus far, I have always had the points transferred into my account and I have applyed them to some reservation I was making. This year I will have points transferred into my account but I don't want to use them until the next use year. (I do not know just when they will be used.) When I "bank" my points I will have more than 100% of my current contract.

I haven't done it so you should talk to MS. But I'm told the transferred points don't count toward your 100%. Check to be certain and let us know back.

I have also banked transferred points, in excess of the banking deadline at the time. MS informed me that transferred points did not count toward my banking totals, and so could be banked at any time I could bank under my master contract (any time before the end of the 25% period). Another thought is that MS will often ask which use year you want transferred points added to, where there is an overlap. So you might simply have the transfer made to next use year and not worry about banking at all.
