I read the original question as how many presents were left at grandma's house. This is my answer to THAT question.

My answer isn't an option in your survey. Zero. In my family, Santa only left presents where the child lives. Santa couldn't be expected to fingure out all the extended family and leave presents there, too. All other presents came from the people presenting them.

I voted 1, but it is one each and usually something silly (last year was a giant jar of pickles from Sam's Club for each kid.) We go out of state for Christmas and Santa visits the kids there at Grandma and Grandpa's.

We are telling them Santa brings one present, to account for why we donate presents to Toys for Tots, etc.

This year Santa is bringing one combined present that they will both enjoy-a train table:woohoo:

i voted all but really it is all but one big gift from mommy and daddy. we don't actually keep track of the number of gifts from year to year - as long as it's an equal number and relatively equal amount spent on each child (ie - fair to everyone).

It varies from year to year. Some years it was 5 or more. Last year it was just the wii that they shared. Santa normally spends around $150 per kid each year. Then there are some presents from mom and dad. This year dd9 is getting an ipod so one present. Dd7 has been asking for the other five dwarf to go with Grumpy and Dopey and Santa after 3 years finally found them. (thank you disney)

santa brings one gift at my house. DH and i explained to DD years ago that santa has millions of kids to deliver gifts to, and there's not enough room in his sleigh for each child to get any more than 1 gift. the rest of her gifts are from DH and i.

We honestly don't keep track of how many. We just buy the gifts, wrap them, and stick them under the tree. We only have one dd, so no need to equal out the number ect. I usually spend about $500 total for the family. DH,DD,and I, with most ofthat spet on DD. We wrap one gift from Mom and Dad and the rest are Santa gifts. All big ticket items come from Santa. I guess we chose this way b/c this is what both out our parents did with us.

At our house, the kids get presents from Mommy and Daddy, siblings, Grandma and Grandpa, Cousins, etc. Santa brings one large ticket item that is under the tree when they awake Christmas morning.

We don't have a kid here yet, but once this one arrives and is old enough to understand Santa and Dyed Moroz (Father Frost, a Russian tradition) he or she will get a couple presents from Santa and then one from Dyed Moroz. In the Dyed Moroz tradition, if the child is good they get a toy, if they're bad they get an icicle. We'll do a plastic or paper one until they're old enough to not get hurt, if they're bad that is.

One plus stockings. They are left in the family room by the fireplace. The rest of the gifts are family gifts under the Christmas tree in the living room.

This is how we do it, as well... Santa brings each child one gift.

At our house, Santa brings three gifts for each child. Three because that is the number of gifts the wise men brought to baby Jesus! They are not always the most expensive items, but are typically the things that the kids really seem to want the most. We wrap gifts, but Santa leaves his gifts out unwrapped and he also fills the stockings.

all gifts are from santa for the most part except one big one from mom and dad... this year the big one was an ipod touch (from mom and dad and grandma and grandpa we split the cost) and then santa spent about 250 probably. But i went a little overboard this year because her dad is going to be TDY for 2 months after christmas and we are just going to stay with my parents instead of comming back home after christmas and i figured she would need a decent amount of toys at my parents house for 2 months in cold weather (we live in the south so she is used to going outside every day).

Ditto!

3 Because of the Wise Men and Santa's gifts are always unwrapped and ready to go! (already have batteries, etc)

DD's santa gift is always unwrapped as well. we've also explained to her that santa and the elves don't have time to wrap gifts, lol.

I love the 3 gift idea (wise men/baby Jesus).

Normally our son's get most of their gifts from Santa and we give them around 3-4 to unwrap from us. He also fills their stockings. This is the tradition for both my husband and myself. Santa has never wrapped gifts, but this year he is because my oldest likes unwrapping gifts. We are cutting back this year, so Santa will have the large items (bike/ramp for 6 year old, plasma car for 2 year old) out under the tree, but will wrap the other things so the boys can enjoy unwrapping them. Their gift from us is our trip to Disney. I made our Countdown Calendar last night.

Santa always large numbers of inexpensive things in our house -- quantity is everything, especially when you're little. So, if he's bringing a set of 20 match box cars they will each be individually wrapped. Another year he brought scissors, and crayons, and a glue stick, and construction paper, and stickers etc . . . . Santa also bring batteries, and some junk food.

As my son's gotten older and the things he wants are more expensive, there are a few less things, but still, I think this year Santa's bringing at least 10 things, all but one of which are under 10 dollars, some a lot under $10. I (mom) buy the big present, and there are usually some other more expensive items (more than $10 that is) from uncle, grandma, and godmothers too.

None. We don't do Santa. On any message board you need an "other" category ;)
