How many points will I have to make this reservation? Use year confusion

I should know this but I am confused with the 50% borrowing rules.

We would like to go to Aulani June 25 2022 so I can make my reservation November 25, 2021.

My use year is December and my points look like this:

Dec 2021 296
Dec 2022 150

When I reserve in November 25 of 2021, will I have 446 or 371 (50% of 150) ? If I only have 371, I will not have enough but then waiting until December 1st, to receive 150 points, I will have lost a much needed booking window. Thanks!

If they don't get rid of the 50% borrowing then you'll be limited to 371. Waiting until Dec 1st won't make any difference.

No. December UYs are hard to wrap your head around.

Your 2021 UY doesn't even begin until December of this year. The 296 points in your Dec 2021 UY can be used for a reservation that begins no sooner than Dec. 1, 2021 or ends no later than Nov 30, 2022. Your Aulani trip falls in that period. If you don't have enough points, you can borrow up to 75 points from your 2022 UY unless the 50% borrowing limit is lifted.

It’s all based on the UY of the trip. June 2022 is in your 2021 UY. So you can use all 296..which must include banked 2020 and your 150 2021 points.

You can then borrow up to 50% if your 2022 points as that is the UY after the trip.
