We are staying at OKW right now. DS (5) does not want to leave! Now, as you can see to the left - we do not live that far away! :) But he really likes it here - so, has anyone done the math? How many points do we have to buy?!

:earsgirl:

5124 - Studio x $85/pt = $435,540
10335 - 1 Bed Room x 85/pt = $878,475
14004 - 2 Bed Room x 85/pt = $1,190,340
23201 - Grand Villa x 85/pt = $1,972,085 :teacher:

:earseek: DVC does have a max stay per resort and I think it is 30 days. I'm not sure if that is right or not but there is a max stay rule.

From check-in January 1, 2005 through check-out January 1, 2006, according to the Caskbill planner it would be;

For a Studio it would be 5,137 points with annual dues of $20,239.

For a one bedroom it would be 10,358 points with annual dues of $40,810.

For a two bedroom it would be 14,036 points with annual dues of $55,301.

For a grand villa it would be 23,254 points with annual dues of $91,620.

I used $3.94 - the 2005 annual dues per point at OKW in the above calculations.

there is also a maximum of how many points a person can own - I think is 2,000 per resort - but a maximum for 6,000 for all resorts????

I would definitely go for the Grand Villa - So it would be $2 million to buy the points - then $91,000 per year for annual dues.......

I guess we wouldn't have to pay utilities anymore..... :) :scratchin

Still, I'm thinking we'll keep our house!

Thanks! I knew DIS would have the answer!

The maximum is 5000 points per individual with no more than 2000 at any one resort. But like anything else there are loopholes...any one individuals could easily control 10,000 or more points simply by listing their children or other relatives as owners. Further, I suspect one could easily own more than the maximum by listing ownership in a corporate name.

I've heard of the 30 day limit as well, though am unsure of it's accuracy. If accurate it seems one could simply check-out then check-in again.

Wasn't there something about not spending more than 6 months / year at a DVC resort on points? Or did I just dream that one up? :confused3

Except maybe $.35 for local phone calls. We've have several trips when local calls were the only resort expense. We use AOL dialup from the DVC WDW resorts for internet access.

The number of points also varies slightly from year to year due to how the weekends fall within the different Disney seasons.

For the Calendar Year shown (Jan 1st through Dec 31 inclusive), a 1-B/R at OKW would be this many points:

2004 10,380
2005 10,358
2006 10,311
2007 10,315
