How many points to be considered members?

Just how many points must you buy in order to be considered DVC members? I see many resales for odd amounts, 100, 60, 45, etc. wihich are great for add-ons, but must you purchase 150 to be "members" or is that only when purchasing through Disney?

it used to be 130 then it was 200 but now i think its 150

You can buy a resale with as little as 25 points and be considered a "member". To buy direct from DVC, the minimum is 150.

You are encouraging DH to add another resort for just a few points!

Yes, you can be a member with just a few points through resale, but remember that in order to use points for exchanges, you will need at least 160.

When DVC started, the minimum buy-in point was 230 points. When we bought, it had just changed to 150, but we bought 230 anyway. I can predict that anyone who buys a small resale contract will be adding on in the very near future! We added 150 onto our original 230 after just 1 year! We have been very happy with our current amount though, and don't forsee any more add-ons. Well, unless they decide to open a DVC Hawaii!
