I would buy 1000 points and be done with it.

If you are picking up 1000 for you would you please pickup 1000 for me? I would get them my self except I can’t seen to make it passed ROFR.

We just purchased DVC (BLT is our home resort). When we were with our guide doing the tour, he told us that BLT will allow for 5 to be on the reservation for the studio and 6 in a 1 bedroom. He then went on to say that you must provide your own air mattress/bedding for the 5th person (6th in the 1 bedroom). He even pointed to the area in the room that an air mattress would fit. Not that it wouldn't be crowded with 5 in a studio but that is what he said. When we got home and spoke to him on the phone, I asked about it again because on the DVC website and everyone on the DIS say only 4 in the studio- he again said yes, they will allow 5 on the reservation for the studio.

Any other new BLT owners who were told "5" is okay in a BLT studio? This would be good to know for those that have a family of 5 that would like to extend their points for a longer visit by staying in studio.

You can look at the point cost per nigh for the DVC resorts at different times of the year. Since you have an idea, you can add the points for AKV and compare those to BLT and the other resorts, too.

These point costs are for the year listed. Although the total number of points is static for each resort, the allocation can shift to incentivize slow seasons and lower occupancy days of the week.

P.S. If you buy the 1000 points now (as suggested), you won't need to add on later, but be sure to get them in 40 - 25point contracts for ease of selling

Studios will only accommodate 5 if the 5th person is under 3. Other than that the maximum is 4. It is the same with the 1 bedroom--5 plus someone under 3.

I believe that your guide is misinformed.
