How many points do you own & where?

We have 200 at BLT. When we purchased (before they reallocated points and before we had our 3rd child), this was enough for 14 nights of vacation (we're pretty local, so we could go on weeknights when points were much cheaper). But now we get a 1-bedroom and we still have enough, although we don't go as often now. This year we had a studio for 2 nights, a 1 bedroom for 2 nights, and we'll have a 1-bedroom for 4 nights and a 1 bedroom for 3 nights over the summer. I think we used a few borrowed points to complete all of this though (Sorry, don't know off the top of my head). We are looking at getting a few more points, however.

Haven't read all the posts here, but we just have a small 50 point contract at AKV. It's enough for us to go every couple years, staying in a one-bedroom (two adults and two little ones). We don't go every year because of the price of flights (we live in MA). We take advantage of the cheaper Sunday - Thursday night stays. 5 nights and 6 days is enough for us. When the kids get older I'm hoping we can stay longer (I should clarify - stay longer and still have happy, non-exhausted kids!).

We also only have a small 50 point contract, although we do plan on adding on once I graduate from nursing school later this year. 50 points will allow us to have a nice 5/6 night stay every other year, which is typically our vacation habit anyhow as we live on the West Coast and spend a day flying to and from.

200 Points at BWV So far we went as agroup to AK and stated in a 3 B/R villa had to use 2010 & 2011 points.Had a great time .Next trip is booked at Home Resort (Boardwalk ) for Jan.2013 ,found it better this time to book 3 seperate rooms .It worked out better point wise and still had to borrow from 2014.

Can I be REALLY nosy? For those of you who live farther away from Disney, how do you afford to fly down so many times a year? We are a family of four traveling and the absolute cheapest I have found out of Philly is $200/person. This is why we are limiting ourselves to one or less times per year.

We live near Philly (sort of where MD, DE & PA meet) and we are now driving. We have a family of 6 and we want to go as much as possible. We bought season passes this year and a loaded contract...so we are going 3 times and driving each time. We've done our first driving trip and it was much better/easier than expected. We talked to tons of people who did it and found out what seemed to be the best way...and we did it. Which means - more Disney Vacations

We have 200 pts at SSR. We just bought in Oct and we already want to buy 100 more. We bought a loaded contract so we started with a ton of points. It was a blessing and a curse. We are going 3 times this year...but then we have to drop down to once a year. We are now spoiled and once a year seems like torture.

I would actually love more than 300, but any more than that and I get concerned about the dues. I don't know if I want to commit to paying that much every year. But boy do we LOVE being DVC members!!

By the way, great post. I always feel like we have a very minimal amount of points. It was nice to see the wide range.

I have 230 at Grand Californian, 230 at Aulani and as soon as Grand Floridian goes on sale I will buy 230 as well the best of all worlds:dance3:, I bought direct and plan on continiuing doing so, I booked a cruise with my points this year and even if it was not the best deal It felt so good doing it with my points pirate:

we live in NY and all of our trips are when flights are 200pp, family of four, we always fly southwest, we get rewards points and use a southwest card for all purchases, brings 2 trips a yr down considerably

Up until last year we paid $150...but lately it's almost double...and we will make three trips this year....will cut back to one longer trip next year.
