How many Points do you have?

Very exciting. I know how long you've been looking at it all here. That's nice. Enjoy.

Lisa

Thanks for the warm wishes. Yes we did a good 6-7 months of research before we purchased. Our guide said she was really impressed with our knowledge of the whole process. I have the DIS to thank for that!
We plan on adding on at GCV when they become available:goodvibes

We originally purchased 230 at OKW and added on another 150 at OKW a year later. The 380 has served us well for 10 years, but now we wanted to have at least some AKV points, so we added on 69 points there, allowing us an every 3rd year reservation at that site booked at the 11 month window. We figured that would be the only way to get concierge there. So our total currently stands at 449 for a family of 2. We do love to take family and friends with us though, so often we have a week in a 2 bedroom followed by another week in a 1 bedroom for just us after our guests leave.

375 points all at the Boardwalk. 350 originally purchased when I was single and my DH gave me 25 points for my birthday two years ago.

We have 250 BWV, 175 VWL, 150 VB, 100 BCV, and 100 AKV. Soon we'll be adding more and I just can't decide if it will be 40 each BCV and AKV or 110 AKV, to get the discount and extra developers points.

Our family is spread out, and we use the DVCs in Florida and our Cape May NJ home as our gathering places.:goodvibes We are the DGParents, and as long as we can travel we want to meet our family where there's lots to do, and where no one has to do all of the cooking and cleaning:goodvibes Traveling for the families is expensive though, and we've even begun spending some weekend days at DVC to stretch out the time together, because it IS the TIME together that is important.

We began our purchases to host a GG for DM's 85th birthday, for 11 people, so it's never been a "just for us" puchase.

Bobbi:banana:

We just bought in this month, and we have 160 points at AKV. Right now that works for us since we don't have kiddos, but I can see us adding on one day so we can always have a 1 BR instead of splitting our stay between a studio and a 1 BR. :)

We bought our original contract at SSR with 250 points, did a 75 point add-on a month later and did another 125 point add-on at AKV in August for a total of 450 points.

currently, 400 total
240 BWV
60 BCV
100 SSR

will prob add 100+ at CRV (when it becomes available ;) ), also would love more BWV points (will prob sell the BCV contract as we add more elsewhere ~ we've no interest/need in getting BCV 11 months out).

gotta say: we've owned DVC for almost 8 years, & do not regret a penny. CONGRATS on your purchase!! :thumbsup2

We bought 300 VWL points in Jan, with the contract we recieved 300 2006 ponits, acted like bonus points!, So when the extra points run out in 2009 we are going to purchase at least another 100 points maybe 200.
Got to love this addiction!

Just purchase 200 points at SSR. If CRV turns out to be DVC, I'm thinking about adding on between 50 and 100 points!!

We started with 175 at OKW
Added 75 at OKW (250)
Added 50 at OKW (300)
Added 100 at VWL (400)
Added 100 at BCV (500)
Sold 100 at BCV (400)
Sold 75 at OKW (325)
Will be selling 50 at OKW (275)

So we'll be at 275 for a while and might sell the 100 at VWL later on.

Hi Deb. If you don't mind my asking, why are you selling so many contracts?
Do you just not go to WDW as often or would you just like to go another way than DVC?

thanks

We started with 150 at BWV in 2000 and that served us well while the kids were younger and we stayed in a studio. We just added on 110 points at AKV so now are up to 260. Now that the kids are older, we need the extra room in a 1 bedroom.

You can never have too many points...at least I can't seem to.

We started with 100 SSR points in Sept 2005 and added another 120 two months later. I'm waiting for the DL GC for the next add on. With the new banking rules I'm wondering if I should get a new master contract with a different UY as our Feb UY doesn't work very well for our Fall trips. If I ever had to cancel a Fall trip I wouldn't be able to bank the points.

200 BWV points
50 SSR points (1st add on)
75 SSR points (2nd add on - not yet complete)

Total 325 points

I think my guide once told me that the average DVC family had 225 points.

We don't like the attitude change we are seeing, plus we were paying about $2500 a year in dues. The OKW fiasco was not to our liking even though we love OKW. Add the cost of the trips (tickets, gas, hotels along the way, meals, etc), and it was getting a bit expensive. Add the cost of private school on top of that and we were getting a bit low on disposable cash. So instead of two trips a year, we'll just take one. And maybe hit the beach for a few days before or after.

We are looking for another timeshare that we can use to go to the beach at least every summer, FL Gulf Coast is our pick.

So we were up to 5 contracts and will be down to two, hopefully by the end of February. And we could sell the VWL one, too, later on.

We have 560 - 200 at AKV, 180 at BCV and 180 at SSR. This yields us three vacations a year in a studio. As the kids get older and want to bring a friend along, I expect fewer vacations but in larger units. DH expects we will add on at Ko Olina or possibly GCV.

We originally had 350 at VWL, then added 230 at OKW, for a total of 580. When AKV came along we sold our VWL points and bought 220 AKV, so now we have 450. I think that will do for our needs.

300 for us. By the time we are 30years old I think we will be well on our way to pushing 1000+. We want to be able to use our points on whatever and not think if we will have enough for it. Meaning if only a GV is avalible and it is only going to be the two of us I want to be able to book it. But by that time we will have kids so it will probably never really be the two of by that time. :thumbsup2

We started with 250 at VWL, added 150 at BCV, then added anothe 96 at BCV to try to even them out for a total of 496. Would love more, but will wait for the Contemporary. Love my DVC!!!
