How many points do you have? How do you use them?

1.) Knoxville, TN

2.) 320 SSR (2x 160)

3.) We do about 1 7-8 day WDW trip per year in the fall, and another one around our anniversary in early spring we've done HHI and Charleston Place. Our points this spring are actually going to our in-laws who'll probably blow them at the Grove Park. When we go with the in-laws we do a 2br, without them a 1br (the garden tub was a big draw for my wife.) Now that we're expecting another baby, our plans will be in flux for probably a year or two, so we might rent some points. We'll probably try for another HHI trip at the end of March or something. We're also planning to do a beg, borrow and steal 3 year cycle to do the cruise in a few years (those banking and borrowing years are going to be tough).

4.) We drive (are we there yet?!) We now have a mini-van so the whole crew including in-laws can go up in one car to save gas.

1) Where do you live? Outside of Chicago
2) How many points do you have? 1000
3) How do you use them? (frequency of trips? length of trips? type of accommodation?) Big summer trip, normally to HHI where we treat friends, this year DLR, Fall trip Food and Wine/MNSSHP where we treat friends, and another trip or two here or there, often with friends.
4) How do you travel back and forth to Disney? (train, plane, car, magic carpet) Fly to WDW/DLR but we drive to HHI.

1) South Jersey
2) 369 points 300 ssr/69 bcv (want more BCV)
3) usually 3 times per year (Jan, May, Oct) for 5 nights (sun-fri). Usually we stay in a 2 bedroom. We did stay in a GV this year though.
4) always fly on Spirit.

1) Where do you live? Southern NJ

2) How many points do you have? 350 Points at AKV

3) How do you use them? 2-4 trips per year. Depending on the accomodations we choose, some trips wind up being cash and not points.

4) How do you travel back and forth to Disney? Definitely fly.

1) coastal North Carolina

2) 350 points- (SSR 200 points/ VWL 150 points)

3) usually 2 trips a year-

-December- 2 days studio wherever DVC
5 days VWL 2 bedroom with friends

4) fly Allegiant as long as they are nearby; have driven but prefer flying.

1.) Connecticut

2.) 700 points just did an add on tonight!!!

3.) Usually three trips a year:
This year: 10 days in a two bedroom Sept.
April 9 days in a one bedroom
June 10 days one bedroom then going to a two bedroom at Vero Beach!!!!

4.) Fly

1. South Jersey right near Philly

2. 150 lonely SSR points, waiting for BLT

3. 2-3 times a year squeezing the most out of our points with studios off season stayed in 1br at SSR once with extra points from resale. Poaching at 7 month window as SSR theming doesn't excite me or my DD4 and DD1.5

4. Fly with southwest since it seems we have a never ending stream of Ticketless Travel funds from price adjusts... They So Rock!!

1) Where do you live?
Columbus, Ohio (Westerville)

2) How many points do you have?
540 (390 at SSR and 150 at VB)

3) How do you use them? (frequency of trips? length of trips? type of accommodation?)
Mostly 1-BRs. Will be moving to 2-BRs soon though, as DS (12) and DD (6) are getting older and are asking for more room. ;) We have been going twice per year for a week or so. Usually spend a day or two at the parks and just enjoy the resorts and other activities on the other days. :cloud9:

4) How do you travel back and forth to Disney? (train, plane, car, magic carpet)
By plane the last 3 or 4 trips. Car all the others. It's about a 16 hour drive  or 2-hour direct flight :yay: into MCO for us. Let me know when they have that magic carpet ready!!!

OK I'll play...

1) Elk Grove, CA (North CA)
2) 220 SSR points. In the process of adding 100 AKV and will be selling 120 SSR points so I can buy VGC(hurry...open, open, open).
3) We take full advantage of DVC's flexibility...we've done anything from 1 - 10 nights at DL (all 3 hotels), SSR, VB, BW and room sizes from studios to 2 bedrooms. We're even trying our first exchange to Kauai in Oct.
4) FLY!!! I need Tinker Bell wings or maybe I could get one of my DH giant pumpkins to turn into a Cinderella coach!!!

1) Where do you live? Maryland
2) How many points do you have? 735
3) How do you use them? (frequency of trips? length of trips? type of accommodation?)4-5 trips a year, usually one for a week, the rest are 4 days
4) How do you travel back and forth to Disney? (train, plane, car, magic carpet)Plane....to long and far to drive

I live in Maryland...(go Terps and O's). We own 224 pts, 174 at BWV and 50 VB. One trip per year, some years we will get 2 trips in. Use my VB points at both VB and HHI (alternate every other year). Use my BWV pts. for all Disney trips, cruises, GCV, and exchanges out II. We fly most of the time. Will be driving to HHI for that trip. :goodvibes

1) Where do you live? Northeast Florida
2) How many points do you have? 300 SSR
3) How do you use them? (frequency of trips? length of trips? type of accommodation?) 3-4 trips a year, always in a 2-bedroom. Usually a Sunday-Thursday in the Summer, a weekend in May for Flower & Garden, a weekend in October for F&W/MNSSHP.
4) How do you travel back and forth to Disney? (train, plane, car, magic carpet) Car....2 1/2 hours away

We live in Ohio and own 855 points. Most of our points are used for family and friend gatherings in WDW.

We fly, and don't have as much weekday leisure time as we would like, so we utilize the weekends.

My spring break from school is in March, and we tend to alternate between DVC stays and cruises. Next year it's DVC. Then we like to go in May for the Flower and Garden Show. Next year we're combining F&G with the family trip, and then a Family DCL cruise:boat: The fall trip could just be me and friends, or sometimes with DH. I like the MNSSHP more than DH, but F&W doesn't particularly interest either one of us. However, the Christmas festivities do, and this year, we're going twice, once in November, so the DGC can see the castle with the icy lights, and then DH and I are going for NYE!!! So, 4-5 trips most years. DDiL would like to run a 1/2 marathon in January '10, so that will be a new time for a family vacation.

Bobbi:)

We live in Alabama.

We have 180 points at SSR. Hope to add on when we get these paid for.

We have stayed in a one bdr, a studio, and am currently in a 2bdr at BWV!! We usually go Sun-Thurs to get the most out of our points. When we add on that could change, when we get grandchildren that could change things as well.

We drive, 550 miles each way. Eight solid hours if we limit our stops.

2) How many points do you have?
3) How do you use them? (frequency of trips? length of trips? type of accommodation?)
4) How do you travel back and forth to Disney? (train, plane, car, magic carpet)

1) Maryland
2) 560 points total; 300 - VWL, 260 - AKV
3) We have been going around 3 times per year. We do a combination of studios and 2 bedrooms, but not on the same trip. The size of the accommodation depends on who is coming. We'll probably cut down to 2 times per year in a couple year's time.
4) We have been flying. Driving from Maryland is too much of a grind. And planes fly over brush fires.

1) In NC. I haved lived in the same town of NC all my life.
2) 485. Started out with 170, then added 50, then 130, and recently 135(cause we really like a 1 bed)
3) Up until our last add-on, we typically stayed 10-12 nights early Dec. in a 1 bed, then Mar. in a studio for 6 nights. Now, we hope to do same scenario, except that spring trip to be in a 1 bed also
4) 1st few trips, by plane. Then mostly since then, we drive. Sort of justify it by amount of days we stay.

1) Durham, NC
2) 300 AKV points, and working on a resale for 150 VWL points (waiting on ROFR)
3) We plan on using the AKV points for 2 2bd savannah view rooms every other year for 6 nights in Magic season, and the 150 pts at VWL will be alternating studios and 1 bds as we have points available in Dec (prolly do the week before Christmas, and then the week before to make use of annual passes.)
4) Last 2 trips we drove, flying on the next one, and our trip in Nov/Dec is not booked yet (waiting on exchange from II with our other timeshare) so we will wait and see.

We live in Missouri

We have 300 AKV points (225 ours and 75 we share with my DM)

We have not yet stayed with our DVC points, but we are taking our family of 5 and 8 other family members to WDW during Christmas week.

We have flown in the past, but this year plan to drive unless we get some really great Christmas week plane fares:rotfl2:

We live in Baton Rouge, LA (Geaux Tigers!). We have 150 SSR points, but adding more in the next year or so, I hope.
What we do: It's been different each time, did a week in a 2 BR at BWV, then a week in a 1BR at SSR, then 5 days in S at OKW. Then had to cancel this latest trip and put points in to exchange through II- planning on going to a beach next year as we are expecting our 2nd DS in July so no trips right now! Then, our basic plan is a week at least in a 1 BR every year.
We flew once, but will always drive unless airfare is super cheap. We like the drive and not having to haul the luggage and wait on flights. When we're ready to go, we go.
