How many points do I need?

OK, so I've been over and over the points charts and I'm still confused. Ideally we'd like to go every year in either May or October and stay 1 week in a 1 Bedroom at BCV. I'm wondering if I should plan a 6 night stay 1 year and then 7 or 8 the next to bank/borrow points.

Does is sound like 250 or 225 would work?

Thanks!! This is confusing :goodvibes

250 is better but if you started by going in october the first couple of years, you'd only need 214 pts, so you could start with as little as 200 pts or so and add-on later if needed.

you definitely should buy at BCV if you prefer to stay there, though.

BCV 1BR for a week in May is 252 points, 6 nights 196 as long as you arrive on a Saturday or Sunday (you would thus have only one higher cost weekend night); for Oct it is 214 a week, 6 nights starting on Sat or Sun is 167. 225 works for Oct, 250 doesn't for May if you want a week every year in May, but alternating from 6 nights to 8 nights would be OK with 250 with banking and without borrowing as long as you don't have any more than one weekend (Fri and Sat night) in that 8 night stay Note I assume you intend to buy at BCV because Oct in particular can be difficult to get there unless you are an owner using the 11 month booking window.

We go every other in in October for a week. We have 150 points. A two bedroom at the Boardwalk is 282 points - we have EXTRA points with a 150 point contract and every other year trips.

If you buy 250 you'll have more points than you need to go every other year for a single week in a one bedroom - May at the BC (more expensive than October - has you at 252 for the week, an every other year trip would require 126 points).

Oh, it doesn't matter how many points you get because after you purchase you'll get add-on-itis anyway! :rotfl2:

Whatever you do decide you may want to break up your points into two contracts, i.e. 150 and 100 in case you decide you have too many points (I don't know if that is possible) it is easier to sell a smaller contract.

Good luck with your decision.
