How many pictures do you take?

This will be our first major trip since we got a digital camera. I used to take one 36 roll of film per day for our old camera, so on a 10 day trip I'd take 360 pics.

Now with the digital, I find I take about 120 pics on a weekend trip (non Disney trips), so the average is higher at 60 pics a day. (Not sure why that is :confused3 maybe it's just because I can!)

So, I'm trying to figure out how much memory I'll need to have for our upcoming 13 day trip.

Wondering how many pics you all take on average while at Disney World???

I'm the wrong person to answer this because I take a LOT of pictures - on average 300-400 pictures per day. This last June trip, I came home with more than 3.5GB of photos or about 1,800+ pics on a 9 day trip.

I came back from a department picnic on Saturday with about 183 pictures from 1:30pm-4:30pm.

I have to bring a laptop or portable digital storage otherwise I'd be drowning in memory cards as a 256mb card of mine only takes 154 pictures. :teeth:

We took 900 pics during our last 10 day WDW trip. Then about 300 pics at USO and Nick FS.

We only ended up getting about 500 printed. We got a great deal from clarkcolor it was .11 a print and I found a coupon for free shipping.

This is a question I should've asked before we went June 11-18!!! LOL :rotfl: I still don't think I would've believed I would have taken as many pictures as I did though. I took 957 digital pictures - I was SHOCKED! :scared1: It is great that you don't have to print them all though. And I do have to say that we were at Disney 7 nights, but we were gone from home 11 nights (did Kennedy Space Ctr, St. Augustine, & Sea World before getting to Disney) - so that 957 includes the entire vacation. We drove, so we were able to run down to Walgreen's & burn CD's ($2.99 each) and clear the card instead of buying extra cards (ours is a 2G card).
I think the reason we take so many more digital than film is because we aren't changing rolls of film in the camera so there's no 'count' in the back of your mind with digital. At least with film we had some idea of how many pictures we were taking with each roll we loaded?! No matter - I still love my digital! :goodvibes

10 days @ WDW.
2 cameras in our group of 7.
Total of 600 pictures between myself and son-in-law.

I take hundreds (of thousands!) of pictures, too. I love taking pictures every day anyway (should've gone into photography) but at Disney there's no holds barred. There's just too many photo ops! I purchased a 1gb card and will probably buy another before my Sept. trip. This will be my first visit to Disney with a digital. And like you guys, I find too that I take 3x more pictures with digital than with regular 35mm film. I got my digital almost 2 years ago and haven't used my 35 mm cameras since.

This reminds me of a question I had -- is there anyplace in WDW to unload digital camera memory cards onto a disk? I don't have a laptop...

I took 13 rolls of film on my SlR which was 312 pictures, my mom took close to 300 with her digital camera, and that was being selective and not just taking pictures to take pictures. I would bring a lot more then you think you need, because if you run out of memory at WDW they charge a lot to buy a new memory card. Better to bring More and use less then bring less and need more.

We had a BBQ yesterday with friends and I took over 60 pictures. I shudder to think how many pictures I am going to take in Disney. Luckily Costco has the 1 gig memory cards for a decent price.

When we went to WDW last year, I did not have a digital camera, just a 35mm. I usually had 4 or 5 rolls of 36 with me and used all of them each day. However, I forgot to put enough in the bag for the next day and had to buy film at MK. Oh my!! I will never do that again. :earseek:

The camera shops in the parks will download & burn to CD, but they charge $12.99 per CD. If you have a vehicle it will be much cheaper to go to Walgreens ($2.99/CD). Have fun!!!

How do you all do it? LOL I am worried about batteries. My camera uses a special battery pack and once it's gone, it's gone. I have to charge back up. I can replace it and use AA batteries but the batteries would get eaten up in no time flat!

OMG!! I take lots and lots of pics, i don't even count them any more!

So i take all my film from home, because is too expensive in the parks, and i also take my digital with all my memory cards, my laptop and you can also make cd's at wal mart.

If you can afford it, buy a couple spare packs. I usually have 3 sets of batteries, one set in the camera, one recharging, one I carry around just in case. If you can replace it with AA batteries, then get some rechargeable batteries, preferably 1800mah or above. That'll give you plenty of juice to run your camera.

My camera uses 4 AA batteries, and with rechargeables (I use 2000mah or 2300mah) I can go for a day and a half to 2 days before switching but I usually change everyday just to be safe. I'd hate to get caught in the parks when the batteries go down.

Tom and I were talking about this yesterday (38 days to go). this is what we found

we have
8 disposable cameras, 4 for each kids about =280 pics there
20 rolls of 800 about = 640
20 rolls of 400 about = 640

Total for this trip, our first! about 1560. . .

Think we have enough?

We have 2 digital cameras, PLUS our camcorder takes digital pics as well. I plan on bringing all three!

My 3rd trip, DH 2nd, our 2nd and boys 1st, we took nearly 1,000 in 8 days. OK, did I confuse anyone else besides myself?

I just got a new battery & external charger on ebay for about $18. My camera uses the InfoLithium battery which lasts a nice long time, but still I figured it would be nice to have an extra one all charged and ready with me just in case.
