How many photos do you take while you're at WDW?

I got back about 3 weeks ago and it was the first time I took a DSLR with me. I was there for 8 days and took about 1000 pics. I was thinking that it was alot of pics but it might be low compared to someone else that's serious about pics. I'm interested in finding out how many do you typically take while there?

On my week trips, between 5,000-6,000, sometimes a little more. In comparison, my last trip was, for me, a light trip and that was 2,700.

My DH is the photographer for the family and he usually takes 400-500 pictures per day. He has been know to take more depending on the time of year we go and if we do something special (Christmas decorations, MVMCP, Halloween decorations, MNSSHP, Star Wars Weekends).

I've taken as little as 800 and up to 2000...all RAW images. I'm taking a few less now because now, before my WDW or DCL vacation, I come up with a theme on what I want to photograph. My last cruise was DCL cast members and before that it was reflections and before that it was signs. Of course I always try to get the perfect sunset each night no matter what the theme is. My DW loves sunsets with lots of clouds.

I usually shoot a few thousand for the weekend for when I drive up to play on property.

I tend to shoot 300-500 pictures per day, but then again I don't bring the camera every day. Some days I go to the parks with the intention of just making shots. Other days I go to the parks with the intention of just taking it all in without a viewfinder in the way.

I like to go to live shows twice, once to watch it and once to photograph it. I'm an about 200 a day guy. Cheers Larry.

My last trip (and first with the DSLR) I took around 3,000. But, with shooting in manual that means the same shot with several different exposures, some in color, some in B&W. I take a lot during the main street electrical parade and fantasmic and quite a few during Wishes, even though they are longer exposures.

This was over 7 days at the park and I think I left my camera at the hotel one day.

Out of all of those, I ended up with about 150 that were "Facebook worthy" and an even smaller amount that my wife used for a scrap book and that I printed in framed.

Our next trip (which will be in a few years), will be my youngest daughter's first trip. I don't know if that will mean more photos or less. Certainly don't want to fall into the trap of experiencing WDW through a viewfinder.

On a week-long trip I average about 1500-2000. I rely too much on the burst mode so I have a lot that are near duplicates, but not quite. I seem to keep them all but am trying to train myself to delete the obviously out of focus shots when I get home. My upcoming trip, I think I will leave the DSLR in the room on some days and just use my iphone (maybe a new one by then!). I know there are other days when I will want to focus on the Christmas decorations and fireworks, etc. at Disney and I am also going to Universal to see all the Harry Potter stuff so I know I will want my DSLR then even if it slows me down to store it for the rides.

easily 200-400 a day. Ill widdle that down to about 100-15 that Ill keep once I return home.

I always arrive in WDW with at least 3 memory cards

Some trips I'll take 300-400 or so over 5 days. Other trips, I've taken as many as 2,500 in the same number of days. It all depends on what I'm there for, who I'm there with, and how all the variables come together (weather, new things, crowds, etc). I go to Disney 4-5 times a year - with some trips being solo trips, where I'm there for nothing but photography and enjoying myself, with no schedules or other people to worry about...some trips I'm there with family or friends where photography is something I squeeze in when I have the chance as I'm more about enjoying time with them and letting them choose the schedule, especially if they're friends who don't go often...and finally, some trips I'm there with fellow photographers at a gathering or event, where photography is the absolute primary focus, and often involves prepared shoots, special access to shows, and teaching/learning environments where lots of sample shots may be taken to explain or help others.

My last 3-day trip - I think I came back with around 1,600.

just got back,
aug 24-Sept 2nd, took around 2000 pics, did not go into the parks every day, so some days took very few to none.

We also recently returned from our trip, Aug 23-Aug 30. Villains Unleashed, 3 Frozen fireworks, 2 Wishes, my first Festival of Fantasy, and a morning at Universal (Diagon Ally). 5,400 RAW files, about 160 GB. Editing is going to take a while. :lmao:

We just started our trip report for it: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3327222

I am so grateful for digital photography. I take perhaps 250-300 photos on an "average" day at Disney World. Some days far less, some days (like when we went to MVMCP) far more. So a weeklong trip would yield around 1500-2000 photos, give or take. When I get back to the room each night, I upload my day's shots. I quickly scan through and delete all the awful ones, then after vacation, I edit just a handful for printing and eventual scrapbooking. Given my taken-to-kept ratio, I'm so glad I'm not paying for film! :)

I don't carry my DSLR every day in the parks, because sometimes I just want to be able to scoop up my little guy and soak in his enjoyment of Disney World without my camera klonking against us. While the quality can vary, I've overall been happy to have Photopass photographers cover the days when I go in camera-free. And at least that way, I'm in the shots....

DS has the Sony A6000 and on our Labor Day Weekend trip he took 7500+ shots :rotfl: now, since the thing rapid fires, many are from the fireworks each night and MNSSHP. Add to that the GoPro video from all the rides and
