Who's the wise guy who selected "we do not own a phone"? Doc, was that you?:p :p :p

You know me too well, Regina! :)

I found long ago, the best way to avoid annoying phone calls was to get rid of the darn thing and we've not had a salesman call since! ;)

Ok,ok, don't get mad, but I have to post on this one.

I have never been called to sell my DVC....not even from the upfront guys...but I guarantee I will be eventually....they hunt down owner's lists like the crocodile hunter.

I can also say I've never called anyone and bugged them to sell their DVC through my company. The companies who do that charge upfront fees or appraisal fees usually, hence a large telemarketing operation. Most phone agents have no idea how DVC works, if its affiliated with RCI, II or any other club...they are just trying to get you to send them some money!

Kind regards,
Shontell

We get phone calls and letters asking if we want to sell DVC. A friend of mine never gets any. We bought ours through resale and she bought hers through Disney. Could that be the difference?

We live and Texas, and have never received a call or card to sell our DVC (not even from the company in Conroe!) We bought everything direct from DVC and have owned since 1992. In fact, I seldom even get one of those "come see us for a free gift" mailings anymore that all the nearby timeshares used to send out on a weekly basis.

We do, of course, get the Share the Magic type referral mailings from DVC, but Texas isn't eligible for any rewards.

We've had exactly two - both times, as is my tradition with these folks, I let them natter on for a bit, then, at a pause, sniff and sob gently. When I get the inevitable "Sir? Sir?" I just respond, "I'm sorry ... could you call back after the funeral?"

Works like a charm.

And, even though we live in the deep South, we do have a phone. We live on a paved road and have all our teeth. But we only started getting the Super Bowl on TV last year.
